Pictures like that really show just how over engineered and safety obsessed most western technology is. We should learn something from our third world neighbors and start replacing UPS trucks with scooters instead of buying Priuses.

I helped my roommate drop off his bike to get painted by a crazy englishman that likes to make things such as this: I saw it in person and it has the perfect stance, I just wouldn't trust myself on it VVV If you google it, you'll get his website as the first result with the first kawabusa he made moist turtleneck fucked around with this message at 01:25 on Dec 8, 2007 |

I almost googled kawabusa. I feel kinda retarded. That is, however, one of the most obscenely sweet frankenbikes I've ever laid eyes on. The world needs more mad scientists.

After looking at that closer, the bike does appear to have a remote mounted turbo just above that. And yes that looks like where the rear brake would have originally been and they just added a coupler to run the line to the back. I bet she leaves a grease streak for miles the day she falls back into those tires. obso fucked around with this message at 08:12 on Dec 9, 2007 |

I'm calling it, right now - it's probably a stock 'busa brake on the rear that's been attached to the rear drive axle, much like you find in ATV's. It wouldn't surprise me if that's an ATV axle back there. I bet the Dubabusa stops like slick poo poo on ice coated with motor oil. Those wheels have to weigh about 60 lbs a piece.

The donkabusa is possibly the dumbest motorcycle related thing I have ever seen The kawabusa on the other hand is loving awesome - one of the bike rags had an article on it but I'll be damned if I can remember which one. It's a Hayabusa motor, and I *think* the swingarm as well, shoehorned onto a modified ZRX frame with a GSX-R front end and tail section. It is, effectively, what Suzuki should've made the B-King. Instead, we wound up with something that looks like it's modeled off the notebook sketches of a 12 year old crackhead.

jude posted:My R6.. 2002 model. Maybe you meant it in the sense of "I want one, but I know I shouldn't really be getting one yet" If not however, let me say now that it would be a rather bad idea. Even an R6 is a hell of a lot of bike for someone who's only been riding on the street for 2 months. Chicken strips are by no means an accurate measure of riding ability, but your rear tyre suggests that you have a lot of work to do as far as cornering confidence and ability goes. An R6 has to be wound up high into the rev range before it gets crazy fast, but an R1 is much torquier and will be crazy fast through most of the rev range. The R6 is already perfectly capable of delivering you to a corner at speeds far higher than you can negotiate it at, and an R1 has this tendency to a far greater degree (lots of torque still on tap even at low rpms). There's a good reason that the R1 is the 2nd most frequently written off bike by insurers here in Australia (second to the ZX-10 by a small margin). I've been riding for just over a year now, and my GPX250 (Ninja 250 to you Americans) is still teaching me plenty about corners, though admittedly it does suck at overtaking on highways. I've crashed once due to entering a hairpin too fast, and escaped unhurt. Had I been on a more powerful bike I would probably have been going faster and not have been so lucky. Basically, what I'm saying is that the R6 is more than enough bike for you at the moment (and for quite a while into the future), wear full gear, respect the bike, and stay safe. By all means get an R1 someday, but it would be wise to get plenty of experience and a few trackdays done first. To contribute to the thread, here's a couple of photos of the antics of a local dealership: 999 Twin Turbo Drag Bike An awesome photo that they have in a frame on their wall

My old NSR150 that I rode on my learners. Fun little bike, but was costly to run. The new hotness, such amazing power compared to the NSR, so much fun to throw around in the hills.

Nice NSR, what size is the gsxr? I know there was a lot of talk about the CBR125, well I saw the YZF125 which is looking to compete with it.
