MotoMind posted:"African Turbo" shot during the 1982 Dakar Rally is one of my favorite automobile racing videos, with a Renault R20 Turbo battling competitors (such as a Lada Niva) and local hazards in North Africa. It's a classic of guts and hairy-chested determination over polished high-budget corporate racing. I used to watch bits of these on the news as a kid, and would tell everyone that when I grew up I'd be in a Niva some day doing Paris to Dakar. Also here's a video of my dream car. A V8 KGB special limited production run Volga. In the other videos it loses to a TT and a WRX, but who gives a poo poo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpQaSk1OWvs

Hell, they didn't have a radio or AC, they came with a magnesium intake on top or a worked over 5.4L DOHC v8 that you cannot buy from anyone, 13" Brembos, wind-tunnel designed rear spoiler and front splitter, no rear seat, roll bar, 5 point harness, etc...

Thanks motortrend.com... That's not a stock Cobra R though, at all. I mean hell the dashboard isn't even original anymore. Took me all of 2 seconds into the video to realize that.

I don't know about the rest of the costs of Nitro RC cars. Best I ever had was a 4WD Tamiya electric, and I got bored of charging the batteries for 20 minutes and playing for 5.
