Okay, so plugging in the values given in the article (x=20m, y=60m), it looks like they were only travelling about 110km/h when they left the runway. Now, I guess you'd add that velocity (plus or minus drag) to the 70km/h or so of vertical velocity they'd gained. :gonk:

A little macabre for a physics lesson.

Oh, and for those who are broken, like me, and immediately cast their minds back to Top Gear showing just how cars can (or can't) fly, a link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/clips.shtml?09

It had no choice. Their defense grid was smashed. We'd won. Taking out Carr then would make no difference. Skynet had to wipe out his entire existence!

Yeah, well apparently there's a thread on an M5 board where this kid posted a thread about hard shifts at 140mph or something and then three pages later everyone realizes that the kid was 18, signed his post Josh, drove a grey E60 and was from the same area and puts two and two together to realize that he was the same kid.

So yeah, I think he was doing some top speed runs (although isn't the M5 limited to 155?) and just miscalculated and ran out of room. I can't even imagine what that must have sounded like to the neighbors.

They're still waiting on the toxicology reports, they believe the driver was probably drunk which would explain the "miscalculation". Not to mention going those speeds, at night, on an unlit runway is really dumb, his decision making was obviously impaired. He was either drunk, retarded, or both.

No no, you see she was just speaking swedish. That is the trade off for swedish womens beauty is their native tongue sounds like someone screaming in terror the whole time. For instance hello sounds a lot like a woman falling off a building. Works well for rally co drivers though.

Comedy option, since I am 99 percent sure this is the same guy, he was too busy looking at himself in the mirror.

Again, I must restate this: Stop fagging up youtube videos with (lovely) music. Honestly, sounds of the burnout, along with the engine revving and the turbo spooling up would be way better. Instead they're downed out by noise.

If you really must throw music in to cover up the parts that aren't interesting, do it like this video, and have the music either cut out or fade almost completely away once the action starts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1RA2aTTo-4

How about an AWD burnout done with some proper style, none of that wussy tie-down bullshit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvIXgIFqnGg

Except that isn't Smart. It looks to be Volkswagen CrossFox, a mini SUV manufactured in Brazil and based on Lupo. Smart would have survived much better. Smart actually has remarkably tough shell, probably the toughest one outside of super cars. I would think Smart is actually one of the safest cars against a truck.

Oh, and there's no video, just pictures of the aftermath including a man in two parts.
