Just put cash down on the ES-137. And if I don't like it, he (The Guitar Hangar, based out of CT) said he can get me a Gold Top Les Paul no problem. Happy Birthday to me!

Looks like Tindeck is down. D'oh. Trying to find another service now.

Edit: Okay, here it is. I'm not confident that this service doesn't suck and I will happily return to Tindeck when it's not broken.

Here is "Come Dancing BT," which is an upbeat, funky track featuring wah

And here is "Slow Minor BT," which is mellower and has no wah

Sorry for the crappy service instead of the awesome one, but Tindeck's down and this is all I could find on short notice.

Nice porn music, and tone too. Love the sound of your amp, and it'll probably convince me to buy it for my first real amp (suddenly I find my Flextone III too childish :( ) in a long long future.

Thanks for the compliments. I made these clips for a thread on HC to demonstrate the amp's dynamic range, so if anyone is wondering why the hell I used so much wah it was to try to show that even with heavy wah work it still responds dynamically and will clean right up. I love that I can keep the amp's gain and my guitar's volume constant and still go from clean to crunch just by altering my pick attack.

You could do a hell of a lot worse than the THD Univalve for your first amp, but if you're looking for something that's a little easier on the wallet, Peavey recently released a cool little unit, the Peavey Windsor Studio. It has a similar featureset to the Univalve, down to the mini-Peavey Power Soak in place of the mini-THD Hot Plate, and the ability to accept nearly any tubes you like. You also save the expense of having to buy a cabinet since it's a combo amp. I've heard good reviews, for the money. Check into it if you'd like similar features for less outlay.

It won't sound like the Univalve, but I bet it sounds good. Peavey's on a roll with low priced tube amps lately.

Please please please make some samples of it through some nice distortion. I'm dying to hear how the fat sub-octaves sound with some dirt!

In other news, I hope to be getting these from eBay:

Can anyone recommend a good delay I can get for relatively cheap used? I want to be able to do reverb-like sounds, so I need a good blend and adjustable delay time. I plan to put it in front of my distortion (yes, I know you're not supposed to), but I may link it in to the effects loop if I'd like to do regular delays, too. I was looking at DD-20s, but there is a lot I don't need on them, and they get fairly expensive on eBay (also I'm told they suck tone). DD-5s might be nice, but I'm really not sure if I want analog or digital. Help?

Flawlessly, even on slap. I've been unable to make it stutter. And yes, same with octave up. It's really nice to have the octave up at about noon to boost the harmonics.

I always loved throwing a bass whammy with a doubled octave up in front of something like a Moogerfooger Low Pass, so maybe a Pog and....something else would get the job done.

..although now that I think about it the best part about the whammy was detuning the top octave by a quarterstep and letting the resulting out-of-tuneness activate the envelope filter. :D

I'm not really sure how well it interacts with other pedals yet since I've cleaned out my board. I know it does NOT interact well with my SYB-3, but that's to be expected.

My XO Qtron+ envelope filter should be arriving sometime this week and it has its own effects loop, might throw it in there to see how it sounds.

EDIT: But now that I'm thinking about it... the Micro POG has a Dry-Out, I'm sure if I ran that into my SYB-3 I'd get better results and just have the wet octave side by side with the synth instead of having the wet effect trying to trigger the synth. Man I love EHX...

EDIT2: I'd just need a split-cable to go into my amp head tho... Ooooo I wonder what the POG would sound like being the input into my talkbox...

Well if they're a large touring act then they may very well be running effects into separate cabs; running the effects parallel so to speak.

Great head, as you might recall I got mine just a few months before you. I always find it interesting to see other people's setups when they have something I have.

Word to the wise, though: when in situations where you get a chance to turn the master higher than 1, your sound will really come through the mix better if you turn the bass down a bit and don't cut the mids quite so much. Should give your sound more body. Unless you already did that and it sounded bad, since I'm talking out of my rear end here not having heard your pickups and such. Just a thought :)

Plugged the Peavey in tonight and it fired up just fine. Two problems are apparent though: the knobs are very scratchy when turned, and there's quite a bit of buzz when nothing is being played. Are either of these very serious issues? How much might it cost to get them fixed?

Woah, I thought I was like the only person with one of those heads. The knob crackle is probably just dirty potentiometers, they should be able to clean them at whatever gear store (I did that with mine and they work fine now). I'm not sure about the buzz, it could be a lot of things (grounding, cords, etc). Don't think any of this would cost much at all to fix.

To participate: I recently got a Korg KP3, and it is totally BOMB DIGGITY.

I haven't played the newest model viper but it's the same scale, neck shape, frets, pickups, and wood so I would assume they are close if not the same. I just fell in love with the green quilted top.

My dad recently overhauled my first bass, a Hohner Pb Professional. The neck had been defretted when I started playing, 12 years ago and he's changed the body and put in two J pickups to replace the P / J pair which it was stocked with.

Gonna pick it up next week, and I'm loving EXCITED
