I've heard this exact song several times in my youth, circa 96 or 97, and I can't for the life of me remember what it's called. Through some miracle of search for Scotland the Brave (the Scottish anthem) I managed to come across the exact song again. Unfortunately, it's terribly labeled and so I can't exactly get a hold of the CD it came on and such. Here's the link to the site I found it on. The Amazon and iTunes links don't actually work. http://fubar.com/stashEntry.php?stashId=1436742

This might be a hard one. Its a rap song from probably a bay area rapper. I used to hear it all the time back in like 1995 when I lived in Oakland. From what I remember there was a woman singing the chorus it went somethin like, "Hurricane. But you can call him Sluracane. Sluracane. Commin up to start an engine-main" I must be real off with the lyrics but you can get the gist of the song.

Really need help identifying a trance-like song I heard in early 2000 from my roommate's computer. Here are the characteristics I can remember: Trance Girl singing about how she wanted someone to take her / would take someone to 'Avalon'. This was repeated quite a bit during the song. The girl had a breathy high-pitched voice similar to Miss Jane in It's A Fine Day. That's all I can remember, so I won't be surprised if no one else can.

I heard this song at work today, and I can't figure it out for the life of me. The song is sort of bouncy and upbeat, with a female singer with a higher, sweet sounding voice. Possibly mid-90s or later. The only lyrics that I caught were something along of the lines of "only he/she is good to(for?) me," although the refrains go: normal, fast fast, normal normal (da dada da da). So like, for that line, it would've gone like, "only...she...is...good...for...me," and the rest of the lines line up that way as well. Since it was music played at a retail store, I doubt that it was anything too obscure. Very poppy and mainstream, too. Any ideas? invisiblelantern fucked around with this message at 05:42 on Feb 26, 2008 |

http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/hewasaquietman/trailer/ Halfway through there's a song that I like the sound of. I've searched lyrics, asked friends, etc etc. It actually might be two songs (transitioning between the two about ten seconds before the kiss), any idea what these song(s) might be? At the end of the trailer there's a music credit, but I'm pretty sure it's for the music used in the movie (that doesn't have lyrics) Thanks to whoever can help me with this.

I've got another obscure song that I can't figure out what it's called. Here's what I know, it's a happy hardcore song, and I heard it on DI.fm's Hardcore channel. It was part of DJ Leto's Underground Sound mix, but I'm sure I've heard it elsewhere. It has male vocals with the lyrics that roughly say that people thought that hardcore was dead, but we proved them wrong. I do know one exact lyric in it was "hardcore 'til I die". I know that this is kind of obscure, but I really liked the song.

I heard this in the background of an MTV show. I know I've heard it somewhere similar recently, like in a movie or even a movie trailer, so it's got to be semi-recently popular. Unfortunately, there's no words (or if there are, it didn't get to that part). It's just a repeating piano bit. It kind of sounds like the piano part to "Diamonds and Guns" but it's slower.

Can someone tell me what remix this is, and where I can download/buy it? I recorded it from the radio at least 12 years ago. I know the sound byte at the beginning is from a famous announcer recording talking about Duke Ellington and his "jungle music". This is all thats left of it from an old tape where I was recording myself, and I realized too late that I taped over it.

This sounds remarkably like Doop - Doop which was a number 1 in the UK in 1994. While its not this track (the original mix anyway), or anything off their only album Circus Droop (I just had a skim through) it might be a b side or remix they have done? Either that or an early version of their hit. Like I say it sounds a lot like it (big band samples over a dance beat) I would say its either them or a copycat artist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvLDm8821jQ

Hoping someone can help me out here, based on some very, very vague information. This is a song I heard once, about ten years ago, on a cassette playing in my uncle's car. He has no recollection of the song, and no-one I have asked has any idea. I remember it being a bit like The Beautiful South, and actually thought it was them for ages. The only lyrics I remember are as follows: "This town is dragging me down, dragging me down down down, This to-own is dragging me down, dragging me down down down" Please understand it was a long time ago and this may be inaccurate and possible even downright false, but if anyone can help me out it would be great. Fake edit: I also once downloaded a song from Kazaa that was approx 1 min 15 secs, and had the last line "And I want to see a shemale loving". I'd like to know what that was, too.
