I believe it's a set route and final positions are awarded based on time minus any penalties given. Which makes sense 'cause the commentator immediately reads out the time. blambert fucked around with this message at 04:18 on Feb 24, 2008 |

There is a set route, you have to go through certain gates backwards, forwards, rear wheels only, etc. You are scored based on time, with negatives for gates "missed" and cones hit. It's like autocross meets drifting meets stunt car driver training. You can use FWD cars too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dU966ADlVIg

I'm going to have to go with "no". Looks like the rolling of the boat lifted him off the deck a bit with a forward angle on his collective, he started to come forward, got scared (who wouldn't?), pulled back on the stick and hit his tail rotor on the deck, halting it. Then the helo rotates around (since tail rotor is stopped) and as soon as he's facing open sea the drops all angle on the blades and the helo drops to the deck.

If the rear rotor halted completely you would have a much worse outcome. There is a rail around the rear rotor to prevent it from coming in contact with the ground -- watch the slow-mo. edit: VVVV holy poo poo, you guys are right. Animedork2075 posted:It's really hard to say who was at fault there. I can't tell if the bike pulled in front of the Vehicle, or if the vehicle just hit a motorcycle that was traveling in the same lane. I think the motorcycle was crossing quite quickly from the far right lane to the layby to try and stop after the seeing the layby late (which is why it's so significantly slower than the flow), doesn't see the car in the left lane and it punts him off the bike. It's crossed the dotted lines by the time it's hit. Edit: Actually, the bike is going so slow it may have already been in the left lane attempting to pull over and the car that hit was rubber necking due to the police presence. blambert fucked around with this message at 00:50 on Mar 1, 2008 |
