Yeah I'm sorry that fur bike is too ridiculous to not be awesome. How the hell do you make furry fairings in the first place? While we are on the ridiculous looking bikes topic:

I don't like the mirrors very much. They don't seem to go with the brutish looks of the rest of the bike. Perhaps making the stalks a bit fatter or less cylindrical would help.

Well, I spent another few days at the track...this time up at Thunderhill. Managed a 2:10 on the 2nd day of the 2 day trackday. Unfortunantly, my recorder wasn't on for that session. I'll be heading back in a week for 3 days back to back and should be pulling 2:05s by the end of that time, if my improvement at the other tracks is any indication. 2:12 lap: http://www.vimeo.com/1087992 Some random clips of passing/etc. http://www.vimeo.com/1101610 Half the video was shot in the B group and half was shot in the A group. I don't typically buy track photos, but this one was really awesome, so I caved.

drat Z3n, that was a fun watch, thanks. It's pretty awesome seeing an 8 year old bike eat new SS's in the corners, every corner. Zip away in the straights, then they brake early and your right back on them. Awesome stuff to watch.

Spiffness posted:drat Z3n, that was a fun watch, thanks. Heh. If you want to see a slightly less clean pass... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zjslr2CK4_g That's...not how you want to do it. Slicing straight through a guy's line on entrance while sliding the crap out of the back tire and blowing the corner, followed by missed downshifts, wrong gears, etc...yeah. A good demo of why you always want to watch your braking markers, not fixate on the other riders. And here's hellowafflezone crashing his GSX-R. On the warm up lap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA5JWl6t2v8 And that's pretty much it from that trackday. Had waffle and another friend have crashes, but both of them were ok and the damage was mostly cosmetic to both bikes. Friend on the 848 had his bike back up and running for the last session of the day. SVs are fun because they have so little HP they don't intimidate at all on the gas, so I'm wide open way early, mid corner. This video is a pretty good demo of that: http://www.vimeo.com/1087618 When i'm pulling on people out of the corners, it's due to higher cornerspeed and getting on the throttle earlier...the amount of time it takes them to start pulling on me is a good indicator of how early they're getting wide open, or the HP of their bikes. Erich totally destroyed me on the straight, and he wasn't reving it hard because the bike is still in break in. Edit: I'm waiting for waffle to post his video of him crashing...bastard. "I'm too lazy to upload it..." Bullshit, everyone knows you crashed, suck it up and show off your footage Z3n fucked around with this message at 19:56 on Jun 3, 2008 |
