I got that pic from the UK autotrader and I believe the ad stated it was lowered for the previous owner which could account for the droopy butt. Other pics I've looked up don't have that look. It's still pretty fine looking, and the reviews I've read so far have been nothing short of glowing. Just saw the new Guzzi V7 Classic... want one of those too here's a more normal look for an '01 raptor And from the file: from http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2007/11/20/tilting-v-max-trike-by-tilting-motor-works/ Finger Prince fucked around with this message at 23:47 on Jun 18, 2008 |

I didn't take enough pictures to post a project thread, but my ZX6R is back from the dead. It looks darker in the video than it really was. This was before I finished rebuilding the muffler, so it doesn't have one. http://www.vimeo.com/1223152 Unfortunately I don't have video of the gay couple that came out to advocate for the safety of neighborhood cats. And ears.

How'd you fix it? Judging from the photos you posted last time, I thought the rear sub-frame was completely gone.
|
# ? Jun 24, 2008 07:04 |
|
The rear subframe twisted off into two separate pieces. I replaced the subframe, left rearset bracket, right passenger peg bracket, rear axle, turn signals, and mirrors. I put on 'Universal Fit' ebay mirrors with integrated turn signals. They don't line up flush with the fairing and look like crap, but whatever the bike doesn't even have a tail fairing. I was able to order a new end cap for the muffler from Jardine for 30 bucks, I just had to hack up the old one to fit it on. It doesn't line up with the exhaust hanger anymore because the internals are tweaked, but once again, whatever. I'm probably the only person to have broken the evaporative emissions control system (shattered charcoal canister) and fixed it instead of removing it. I used glue, sandwich bags, and electrical tape to put the canister back together. Real classy. And I did it all while standing on one leg. For those that didn't see it. -->note crutches Zool fucked around with this message at 07:27 on Jun 24, 2008 |

Riding a bike that broken feeling is a sick kind of awesome. Plus the added thrill of no signals, rear brake, mirrors, lights, fairings, license plate, coolant cap, misc bolts... :P I cant decide if the bike would be more fun fixed or not.

Haha my voice sounds super stupid. Also I really wished we had the video of me pulling up after winding it all the way up, pulling in, and then immediately having two of capitol hill's finest come up and ask if it was necessary for me to be so loud. Yes it is because we're testing this bike and I was only on it for 2 minutes tops. Yes I do have a license to operate this machine when the cops show up. Do you have a license for that marriage of yours? oh I'm sorry. edit: but honestly it's pretty rad that you got that thing in running condition again. I thought for sure when I towed it out of that dude's yard and then gave you the broken plastics in the hospital that it was totaled for sure. Fix your loving leg already. A perfect example of why we constantly tell people not to get 600cc super sports and more for a first bike. Cause silly little mistakes will kick your rear end and thrash the bike.

1970 Honda CB350, my first bike and I can't wait for a day off to ride around! I have the original bars I'm going to put on once I get over the shock of actually owning a motorcycle. It needs a battery, and I'm going to change all the fuel lines and clean the tank. But for now it runs well, it's just a bitch to kick over.
