Awesome-- my girlfriend and I were just talking about how great a Steve Brule spinoff would be last night.

The new episode was sorta "meh", but mostly because I had already seen the Griddlemaster segment during the Awesome Tour. The women's talk show bit was great, though-- on par with "Ooh Mama!" for being odd and disturbing.

Two good friends introduced me to the show a few weeks ago, and we watched the entire first season and it quickly became my favorite. I have yet to watch the second season, but I'm getting around to it. I think what sold me was Steve Brule and the way he said "For your health!" It made me appreciate John C. Reilly all the more.

That combined with the fact they subtitle it for no reason made that loving hilarious.

This was my favorite part of the episode, and makes me laugh uncontrollably. I am going to try to slip "hundo" into as much conversation as I can from now on.

Really great, lengthy interview of Tim and Eric here:

http://blogs.villagevoice.com/music/archives/2008/07/tim_heidecker_a.php

A ton of interesting things in that, with the ones that I remember most being that there's going to be 50 episodes of Awesome Show total, and that apparently the Neil Hamburger show is happening and will be called "Neil Hamburger's Big Ball".

Grrr
So I was the only one who went to Awesomecon?

Lots of fun in the park as usual. This year they had a wheelbarrow race, a tug-o-war (where the rope broke), and a costume contest, followed up by the usual trivia contest. Lastly there was a D'ump pinata filled with random toys and junk like pre-packaged sausage and plastic toy cheese. We were all given free hot dogs and hamburgers and sausage. There was also open karaoke.

There were also surprise appearances from Raz, Richard Dunn, the "come over" woman, Bob Odenkirk, and Seth Green (who just showed up on his own).

I thought that they just superimposed Tim's head onto another person's (Richard Dunn?) body to make him look emaciated. Whoever it was just had a random tattoo on his chest.

Nah, it kind of looks like a tattoo on the stream but when I watched it on my big TV it was pretty obviously a big fake scar.

That "Getting the most out of your child clown" sketch was... just disturbing all around. I thought since Steve was blown up maybe his business would close, I guess his bro took over.

And the look on the buzzer guy's face as he looked at the camera, from happy smiles to "what you gonna do about it" was great.

Awesome show. The whole Jackie Chan theme of the episode was great. The Sexual Romance bits reminded me of the cult film The Room, if only because a quarter of that movie was also devoted to candle/rose heavy sex scenes with comically bland R&B in the background.

I'm surprised no one has commented on Eric's wife here - although I can't decide if that's only because everyone else already knows who she is and has a dozen movies of hers. Anyways, it's porn star Abbey Brooks. I was wondering if it was a real life wife or something since she looked so approachable. It's Not Jackie Chan was great, I especially loved how they give them only the question area. "Arts and entertainment, and it's not Jackie Chan. Go!"
