Is it me or is Adam getting really loving annoying and preachy lately?

He said he listens to a lot of talk radio during the day, so with the election and all their attitude probably rubbed off on him a little.

I'm sure he'll cool down in a few weeks.

5-10-2001 is a pretty good show with 2 marine corp drill instructors from that old fox tv show bootcamp. They want someone to call in and make them mad so they can get fired up and yell. Around 36 minutes in, some dumb kid calls in and asks if he should get his rear end plugged before joining the corp. Both guys get going and start yelling at the same time, I couldn't stop laughing. Both are yelling at the same time so you can't make anything out until the end, "hasdjfh#&*& asjhk d&*%$&($%(*%&@^@$!#!.. make me wanna puke!" Right after Adam compares them to ceramics...

Plus Adam was really in his element because he had "2 normal guys" on the show. They talked about buying the state of Rhode Island and making it thier own country. The only way they would let you in at the border was if you could "chug-a-lug 2 beers and do 50 push ups." Once you were in you had to fall in line. Awesome.

Just listened to yesterday's (Thursdays) and Wednesday's show. I like how Theresa's rebuttal reflex is to say, "I don't like you", ignore said caller, and then call him a douchebag. Adam does the same thing, but I find it hilarious when both of them choke because they get superduper self-righteous.

However, Dr. Drew was fantastic. I need to get the 3rd part and have my ex listen to it because she wouldn't believe me s to how guys operate and how much of a failure us men are as a whole.

What the gently caress is wrong with Comedy Central's flash player? I have never been able to make it work. It just buffers for a while, then goes to the "Find more videos at comedycentral.com" screen.

I have a slow connection, but it works fine with every other flash video player. Can they not license a player that works? Did they hire the people that made RealPlayer?

I haven't listened to much loveline in about 4 months because after graduation I lost my primary listening time, while working on homework.

I've been a bit down lately due to a variety of reasons and kicked on loveline today while cleaning and already feel x100 better. I jumped ahead to a Sarah Silverman episode I haven't heard and its gem after gem.

Sarah implies she masterbates more when she is getting laid regularly, and Adam proceeds to describe how girls have a 'dilithium battery' as opposed to guys who are like fossil fuels. loving brilliant. This is the 2nd or 3rd outstanding analogy and the show isn't 20 minutes in.

Edit:
I forgot how much this show blows everything else out of the water, even Stern (just got Sirius ~2 months ago).

I'm bored, so here's a list of Celebrity Rehab patients that met Drew and Adam on Loveline before they faced their addiction:

2002-11-11 (Guest - Crazy Town):

Seth "Shifty" Binzer of Crazytown is a guest. Lots of pot laughs. They mention a show two years ago that I can't find.

Gary Busey:

1998-07-30 (Incomplete)(Guest - Gary Busey)
2003-07-07 (Guest - Gary Busey and Adam De La Pena)
2005-07-24 (Guest - Gary Busey)

You can hear Busey's lack of empathy, and hear Busey's story of his motorcycle accident that caused his brain injury.

2003-07-27:

Mary Carey isn't a guest, but a caller. She calls in while her boyfriend drives her and her grandmother on a porn star tour. She props a sign on her grandma to promote her porn career.

edit:

Not the Celeb Rehab "Daniel" Baldwin, but another:

I'm sure that was the "Sophia" Miriam call. That was about when she started calling in very regularly, and she was busted on June 16 of that year calling in as "Ingrid." Surprisingly, Drew was not the one to figure it out, even though he usually has excellent recall when it comes to callers' voices.

e: The Loveline Companion forum archives for June '03 have several threads about Miriam, a few of which she posted in to talk about her many bogus calls.

Since we talk about Adam's show here, is it okay if we talk about Celebrity Rehab?

This season seems much more interesting than last, especially with Busey thinking he's a member of the staff, and that Guns N' Roses guy actually working hard to make himself better.

My only problem with it so far is that they brought back Jeff Conaway and his shrill of a girlfriend. Their entire story just seems completely faked to me. Maybe not Conaway himself, but the way the girlfriend acts and the things she said are straight out of a movie about addiction rather than how real people are.

I feel completely certain that she's faking, and that the producers know she's faking, I just don't know whether Drew is in on it, or is just getting suckered. He never would have bought that bogus act on the radio show, but I'm thinking that he may have his mind set more on how he's coming across on camera that he's let his bogus shield down.

He spoke about it a bit on his daytime show and said that Vicki is actually doing a little better than Conaway. I think she's a drama queen and wanted to be on TV, but it seems like she's actually trying to get better. I loved the moment when Drew told her she could get treatment, but not where the cameras were.

VH1 Blog interview posted:

VH1: And then there’s Jeff and Vicki, who really just seem like they’re doing a song-and-dance when they arrive.

Dr. Drew: Yes. It seems that she’s there to be on camera, right? We knew that, and anyway the reality is that you can’t treat a couple together. We made that clear and goddammit, Vicki accepted our invitation to get treatment next door. And you’ll see eventually why that becomes a major problem.

This is part of the interview posted on the VH1 blog for episode 1 of this season.

I really felt for Dr. Drew when he had to mediate between Jeff and Vicki in the recent episode, especially when she came up with the argument that it hurt her deeply when Jeff called 911 on her (because she was physically abusing him, and he feared for his life). She was so indignant that Jeff could be so inconsiderate as to call the police for help.

i still listen to loveline as background "music" a few times a week and it's still enjoyable because of the callers and dr. drew,
but stryker did something about a month ago that sort of epitomizes his entire existence....some girl was waiting on hold for however many minutes and at the end of the show stryker picks up her call and after barely saying her name he tells her they can't get to her because seth mcfarlene has just called in....5 minutes left in the show and stryker puts a caller back on hold so he can say "what's up" to seth mcfarlene and the 2 can rub each other nipples to close out the show....he's such a starfucker it's pathetic,
and then i think last night he played the new lovely scott weiland song for no reason except to be noticed by scott weiland, mentioning his name 5 times before starting up the song..."i met scott weiland a few times, he's a really awesome dude, this is scott weiland's new song after he left velvet revolver, scott weiland is one of the best frontmen in rock....of any genre of alltime, so this is scott weiland's new song.....i think he's in LA right now, that's what i heard, scott weiland is in LA and we're playing his new song"
