This was a popular country song from the early 90's (I know, I know), where the video was a livestock auction that featured line dancing Asian businessmen. I think the title included the word "auction." Anyone remember?

I'd wager it's Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident) by John Michael Montgomery

I'm trying to find out the name of a song and the artist who performs it. I've heard it on tv as bumper music on ESPN College Football Primetime, and SEC on CBS. I've only heard about 30 seconds of it max, but it's in a driving 4/4, and has guitars that hold out *I think* C for 8 beats and the go down to *I think* G for 8 beats, and on top of that there is a keyboard-ish sounding instrument that plays a very simple lead, something along the lines of C---E--D--C-B--. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The only thing I recall are that it's a duet, the lyrics are about them going to the local lovers place(might be the hill after prom, but I'm unsure about that). The guy sounds more excited how closer they get and iirc the girl sounds more unsure how closer they get. Ringing any bells?

This is a hardcore song that I heard at a friend's house or at a party or something sometime recently. I feel like the song opens up with the guy screaming something to the effect of, "Oh the blood oh the blood *something something something*". On second thought, it might not be the beginning of the song, but during a breakdown sometime in the middle. I know for this genre that's an extremely vague description of a song (because that could probably be 11 different songs), but any help would be great.

I feel like quoting and answering myself is in bad taste, but I answered it for myself. Song was The People's Elbow by Attack! Attack!

What's the rhythm of that melody?

Also, what kind of style? And when does it sound like it was recorded?

Yes, that was my attempt at the rhythm of the keyboard melody. It was fairly straight-forward rock, with an epic feel to it. I would have to say it sounded like it was recorded within the last couple of years...I don't remember ever hearing it on ESPN College Football or SEC on CBS before this year. I hate to venture a guess on the band, but it sounds like it might *MIGHT* be something along the lines of HIM or some other similar band.

I have the chorus to some song stuck in head. The problem is the only words I know to this chorus are literally "uh huh huh/uh huh huuuuh" I am thinking it's a Rancid song or at least it sounds like Tim Armstrong singing it in my head. If anyone can clue me in on anything I'd be pretty happy about it as I'm not going to be able to get this out of my head until I hear the song.

This is for a project so the sooner the better.

In every cartoon and cheesy thing, whenever two characters are in love it plays a piece of string-heavy classical music. It's seriously the most cliche music I can think of.

What's it called? I need to brush up on symphonies.

Edit: Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Overture. Got it.

This one should be pretty easy, but I can't remember the name of the band for the life of me. It's kind of an indie rock band, and they had a music video maybe a year or two ago that had them playing at a club that looked to be circa 1978 and was inhabited by freshman or sophomore-high school aged kids. The video seemed to have been mostly about longing stares between two mildly unattractive kids over the course of the song, and they managed to finally meet up outside the venue where they took off on a motorcycle/dirtbike?

I heard the song again a few days ago in a car commercial and I can't for the life of me remember the name of the band. I seem to recall them having the word "bird" in their name somewhere but I could be way off about that.

What we do is invent our images. And we build them.
A friend of mine recently burned me a "homesick for New Orleans" CD that she got thirdhand via one of her professors; it's made up of what sounds like mostly late 50's to 60's pop and R&B and the music is drat amazing. Thing is, all of the tracks are unlabeled and most of this stuff is so obscure that even Google can't identify about half of them.

The one that I'm most curious about is track 9, a very cool mellow pop number; my friend thinks it's Stevie Wonder, but when I plug the lyrics ("Festus [?] believe in justice, not a one-night stand, rode his horse named Daniel down the streets of Cheyenne") into Google not a thing comes up and Stevie is kind of high-profile to be so Google-anonymous. There's also another song that sounds disconcertingly like a reggae cover of "Iko Iko," but some of the lyrics have been changed (they insert the phrase "make you jump in the river," among others). Finally, there's a song that appears to be called "Your Mama Don't Know"- it's uptempo, with a pretty sweet fat horn section and the lyrics are all about how your "mama don't know that I'm dancin' to your song, your mama don't know that I'm dancin' on the street, your mama don't know that I'll be your everything," et cetera and so forth. It's a really catchy number and I'd love to know who does it so I can get more of them!

Edit- and the last track is this amazingly catchy Motown-ish song- "Ooh-eee baby, it's you that I admire, ooh-eee baby, it's you that I desire," etc.

This is going to be pretty generic but this has been driving me crazy for a couple of weeks.

It's a techno/electronic pop song. Female lead singer I believe. Some of the lyrics are "you don't need me, you don't *****, you don't even care." At least that is what it sounds like on my crappy cellphone recording.
