I'm hoping that's what the loud noise near the end was, him getting his rear end in gear. But I don't follow the raw very well due to language difficulty, so I guess I'll find out in the future.

I got the same impression, but if that is the case, I can't wait till when someone calls Griffith out on all his poo poo in front of her and she realises he's a huge wanker. I'm not usually the type of guy who has trouble figuring out what's going on in manga but the sheer volume of DEMON WAR in this chapter confuses the hell out of me trying to see who's killing what and picking out one monster from the others. For the first bunch of pages anyway.

Everybody realizing what Griffith's all about is more exciting to me than any loving page-filling epic battle. That poo poo's fun if you're reading it in bulk and can gawk at the artwork knowing there's so much more at your disposal, but in monthly installments it's just page-filler that's going to make the next wait come even sooner. I love Sonia and Mule.

I bought the berserk anime box set because it was cheap. It's pretty amusing (although it pretty much is cheap crappy 90s animation) ~ So put your grasses on, nothing will be Wong ~ Edit: upon further listening, I think that's grosses you're supposed to be putting on. Pretty cool chapter, but it is over soooo soon. The crowd's reactions are hilarious too, if you look closely, especially when the little sorceress is seemingly crushed, and when she's actually OK (look at the little girls, or the mother who shields her kid's eyes, after letting him watch the brutal monster vs crime-of-nature battle  )

I personally thought this one was very satisfying. Instead of yet another monster/demigod standoff, we saw the people of Midland standing up for themselves effectively. I like that. I guess that means they'll all be horribly crushed come December 12th, though. Anyone else get the feeling Miura recently saw 300 from Sonya's speech?

So apparently the reason why Miura takes so many frequent breaks is because he is playing something called Idol Master? Someone get that man laid and then strap him to a desk for the next 6 months. Then hire someone to slap him upside the head everytime he tries to get up. Shouldn't he be contractually obliged to output so many chapters a year or something? I've no problem normally with Mangaka taking a leave of absense for a week or two - in fact I'm shocked shonen mangaka don't take more of them really, considering what I've heard about their average lifestyle but it's a bit obscene that I can stop reading Berserk for 2+ years and come back and be caught up in 20 minutes.
