For RIGHTNESS!! wtf? http://sd.craigslist.org/cto/957216689.html No screencap.. Copy/paste test. No pic in original ad.. Reply to: [?] Date: 2008-12-13, 11:59PM CST This is an honest deal. This car is for those who aren't so concerned with the exrerior. There is writing in a permanent marker which I will paint over with spray paint before selling (this will be the second time I've done this). 150,000 miles, quality condition. The clutch is starting to get somewhat weak so, in all honesty, it will probably cost you $700 within the next year; that's simply the way cars are. Broken rearview mirror, newer brakes, fuel gage is off, windsheild wiper fluid does not work, quality interior, cd/quality speakers, new tires (nice-all terain), mechanically sound, blinkers do not work but hazards do, cigarette lighter might not work. The broken rear-view mirror and blinkers are the main things needed currently, but it's interesting the way it does not need anything to get you around at this point. Call Daniel at 000-xxxx. The steering wheel says "owned and controlled by rightness" and that aspect of the car should always reamin, no matter what; I pray that aspect will remain part of the car. There is nothing legal about it, I'm sure, and you can remove it if you want, but the car will hopefully always belong to rightness; the legal document will state you own the car though. (Great car for younger people or those without a high income). Here is a link with a video which shows what the car looks like http://video.xanga.com/What91365 I require cash in full including the 15 cents. You'd better believe I care about 15 cents, and you'd better all the more believe that I care about you and all, all the more. Take care and bles you and bles all!!!!.... Yep, Toyota actually sold the cavalier in japan. There was a post on autoblog about it a while back -- if you call up GM HQ, and give them the right part number, they'll sell you a toyota cavalier badge. http://www.autoblog.com/tag/toyota+cavalier/

I don't really know much about J-bodies, but Toyota was trying to sell the Z24 Cavalier (4sp auto only) for Y2.07 Million. That's more than a Civic Type R and almost the same price as a WRX. Were top-end Cavaliers really that expensive back in the day?

I don't think the Z24 ever went for more than 15k or so back in the mid nineties. EDIT: unless the car they're currently selling as the Z24 is the US SS. Those go for around 20k I think.

Reminds me a bit of a project one of my dad's friends is working on... he took a 57 Chevy Bel-Aire 4-door and removed everything from the driver seatback to the rear deck, chopped the top and had to fabricate a shortened frame to fit the body on... I'd never buy it, but if I lived close, I'd go see that lincoln just to look at it up close...
