OK, here's one that's been bugging me for about 15 years. I whipped up a miserable mp3 of what I remember of it. Lyrics are (I think) "Hey, hey" to the first two notes, and "ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ahhhhh" to the rest of the notes. I don't know what part of the song it's from, but I'm certain "money" was in the lyrics elsewhere in the song. That probably doesn't help. I had it on cassette around 1994, 1995 at the very latest so it had to have been made prior to then. Give a listen and help me please sample

Been bugging me on and off for probably 8 years now. This is probably different from most people in this thread because I actually HAVE a copy of the song, burned onto a CD I made when I was 13. The problem is, I didn't know what the name of the song was at the time either. I have no recollection of how I found it. It's a grunge-y song with a vocalist that sounds like Scott Stapp turned down 2 or 3 octaves, and the main refrain is "Into the grain, faded graaaaaiiiiiiin". There is a long-ish guitar solo with a delay/echo effect, and the song is around 5 or 6 minutes long. I certainly don't like the song as much as I used to but it would be damned helpful to finally figure it out. I could post a clip of it but I don't know if I'm allowed to, seeing as how the band is unknown.

I heard this in the opening of Part II of "House of Saddam" on HBO. It's the part in Uday's club where he starts shooting the place up. I can barely make out the lyrics, and searching using the parts I think I'm getting, I end up with totally wrong results. Here is a clip, there's some noise in the background from the people on the show. http://drop.io/nkefu0b

Mine is not so much a song, but a video. I was in a club last night and they had some video screens playing random music videos, and one of them interested me and I wouldn't mind hearing the song that goes with it. It involved a black guy taking a load of girls to like, a 'boot camp' thing in the desert, and it looked like a pretty stereotypical hip-hop type video. I think there were cars. Sorry for the limited information but it was Christmas eve so I was very drunk, hence why I can't really remember it now.

Not a bad tune though. Cheers.

I'm trying to find out what the song is in this trailer. http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewMovie?id=263331863&s=143441 (Click "View Trailer") I can't find this version on youtube, they've only got one with a song by Moby. I know this song isn't it. Can anyone help? It starts at around 00:50 in the trailer.

This one could be a little tricky/interesting. It's the first song used in this PORN NOT SAFE FOR WORK clip http://www.pornhub.com/view_video.php?viewkey=01c5129a78fc66e0a9e3 I remember it being a sample song that came with some random music software that I got on a CD that came with a MacWorld magazine or something. I think the file was called Bubbles. Has anyone else heard this song? Does it just exist in this one program, or is it a real song outside of that? Does anyone know the program that the song came with? I first heard it around 96 or 97, so I doubt it's still around, but you never know. Hip-Hop song from the late 90's that kicks off with some Neptunes-esque electric guitar chords and has a guy who sounds like he's on a walkie talkie saying "...in the Philippines?" followed by some other stuff I couldn't make out. I'm pretty sure the chorus is just "What what what what what". Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I hear this song at a bar every couple of years and it drives me nuts.

I'm after the music that plays when they're cleaning up after the party in Chuck S02E04 "Chuck vs. The Cougars". Here is a clip: http://www.tindeck.com/audio/my/oozb/ChuckClip It includes a little bit of talking at the beginning and end so I could get as much of the track in as possible. The middle is clear of talking though. Googling for the music used in the episode turns up a list of tracks that are, but the list doesn't include this. Need help, save my brain please. I heard the song snowboarding at Mountain Creek last week. DJ played it, and I had no idea where he was set up so I couldn't ask him. Track sounded a lot like the chick from M.I.A, only lyrics I partially remember were "put out your paws" or something like that. I'm half convinced the song is terrible, half convinced its great.

It's a Gogol Bordello song. It's really intense, and involves rapping. I saw it live and at that point they had been playing for so long that everything else about the song was kind of a blur except for the rapping in it. It was awesome.

Was it actual rapping like hip hop MC rapping, or that sort of talking-rhythmically-along-with-the-beat-but-not-really-singing-any-melody thing that folk bands do a lot (a la 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia')? If the former, I have no idea, it might have been some special live version or an unreleased track, but if it's the latter it might be Copycat from East Infection or Huliganjetta from Multi Kontra Culti vs Irony or pretty much any song that he might be singing differently live for some reason. Eugene Hutz is constantly on that borderline between 'singing' and 'yell-talking' in every song anyway so if neither of those two sound right you might be better off seeing if anyone posted videos from the tour you went to on YouTube and finding out the title/lyrics that way kundalini rinsing fucked around with this message at 00:13 on Dec 30, 2008 |

To add to etard knieval's post above, I'd suggest looking at stuff from Gogol Bordello vs Tamir Muskat J.U.F, as that album, being a collaboration between them and Balkan Beat Box, has a vocal style closer to rapping than anything else. Check out 'Gypsy Part Of Town', 'When I Was A Little Spy' and 'Last Wish Of The Bride' as they're fairly intense tracks too and I know they've played them live in the past.

Ok, this may be kind of tough, but here goes. I saw this video in a bar tonight, the song was a sort of celtic-sounding techno song. The video was about some sort of sorcerer with big horns (it might have been the sorcerer's hair) leading a boy on puppet strings through the forest and shooting green magic all over the place. A girl with a bright red poofy bowl cut sees the boy and falls in love, I guess. She distracts the sorcerer by shooting what looked like a bee with a crocodile head out of a slingshot. This distracts the sorcerer long enough for the girl to cut the boy's strings, but he catches them leaving and starts firing magic at them. I forget how it ended. I couldn't make out the name of the artist or the song because the bar tv was fuzzy. The artist looked like "Gwetzy" or something, and the song was two words and the first started with k. I know it's not much to go on, but hopefully someone can help.

This has been driving me up the wall for four years. All I know about it is: - it's timestamped 2004-07-29, which is when I got it, not necessarily when it originates - it's named "Jack.mp3" - the full copy is 5 minutes 9 seconds long - the ID3 tag identifies it as being track 3 I have no other information on it whatsoever. Not knowing its provenance, I'm playing it safe and only posting the first 44 seconds. I would love to know what it's from or who composed it, though.
