That's loving hysterical. And I thought I needed stands.

But yeah, right now they're on my desk until I get back to my apartment from my parent's place, and it looks totally ridiculous. 8" monitors on a desk are no good. It's a real pain in the rear end to keep having to slide my chair back three feet to get in the sweet spot.

I got this desk thinking whatever monitors I got would fit snug next to the rackmount in the middle that I had to take off because the control surface (not pictured) wouldn't fit otherwise. Now my screen sits on the Logic 8 box, and I have nowhere to put my rackmount power conditioner.

The DDD5 meanwhile is fun, I know how to play and record patterns and songs and save them but not how to do step sequencing. It's likely to be sold if I need money because of how much of a bother it is.

Step sequencing on the DDD-5 is pretty easy but I haven't played with mine in ages so I don't remember the exact details. I think there were two faceplates that came with it for "performance" and "programming" or some such. I know that you can go in step by step through the measure and tweak individual values with the slider but I don't remember the exact buttons.

The DDD-5 was one of my very first pieces of gear and was a lot of fun to jam out with, although the drum samples are MAD 80s sounding. Gotta love the bass slaps though.

I would love to hear some clips of this one, it sounds cool. I'm a sucker for really bright overdrives - I use pretty dark sounding guitars into a pretty dark amp with a couple of rather bright overdrives in the middle and I've got myself convinced that it's the most important element of my signature dirty sound.

Here you go.

Rather than mic up my THD Univalve and 4x12 Trace Elliot cab, I made a patch that sounds just like it with Amplitube 2's THD Bivalve model. With X-Gear, I can host all the various models, cabs, mics, pedals and rack effects in one interface, so I'm using one of Amplitube Metal's 4x12 Marshall cabs, and mic'ing each one up with the Condenser 12 from Amplitube Jimi Hendrix. Bass on this track is amped through Ampeg SVX. I had this song idea kicking around last night and decided to track a rough version of it. So here it is. Lead track is mostly solid, one or two notes that sound a little out of place but I was just improvising.

Edit for clarification: The pedal is on the lead track, which is panned slightly right. The rhythm track, which is panned slightly left, is just the Amplitube 2 Bivalve.

Wah into this pedal is what really kills me, it's got this great, growly Time Machine-esque live Satriani sound to it. Wish my playing was up to the standard. I love this pedal, definitely going to leave it hooked up to the front of my DI for further use.

Gemini Executioner/KL 19 rack mounted killswitch mixer, a lot of fun and compared to my old Behringer 802 mixer it has disgustingly good SNR ratio. I learn new tricks every time I fiddle around with it, it's great for my setup with a RM1x sequencer doing drums & lead on one channel and a 303 clone on the other - fades, kills hi/mid/low, boostfilters and the lot.

I was surprised, these are useful to more people than just vinyl/cd/mp3 spinner types after all, and only a few hours into owning it it's taught me a bunch of new tricks for recording and live performance of electronic music and the hiphop I'm writing.

30€ with just one knob top missing :unsmith: going by a google search, that's good

The pedal is transparent when bypassed. It is not, however, true bypass. On the rhythm track, i'm still going through the pedal, bypassed. I leave it plugged into my DI full time, it'll be in the chain for my vox comparison coming tomorrow. Very cool pedal!

They actually sold really well, but I guess were just a one-off production run. By all accounts, the usual cheap-guitar fixes (better nut, bridge, tuners & strings) make these into great little players.

Hey JEM buddy! I have a 555 (that I'm actually kind of trying to sell), but they are unique guitars that play really well, and I also am a fan of the neck profile (super thin and wide). I'm sure the high end series is even more awesome, although I have to say I prefer the black hardware to the gold.
Oh man, I love the look of the black hardware and the fretboard on the 555. Either way, this guitar is amazing and I don't deserve it.
Especially because when the warranty ends on this thing I'm going to tarnish the hardware, trade for a 555 neck (they're the same thickness, right?), and maybe grab a pickup that loves distortion as much as I do. Until then, I'm not going to bring a screwdriver within 10 feet of it.

I'm not even counting on the pound dropping further lest some music store dealer gets the idea that they should jack up the prices to profit from those stingy Dutchmen, but I will call tomorrow to see if they are willing to ship a Roland FP7 here and accept IBAN/BIC bank transfers.

There's more differences between them than pickups - the Sheraton is a semi-hollow while the Casino is a hollowbody. I don't know if you knew this or if it makes a difference to you.

Yeah, I'm aware of this too, which I'm kind of looking forward to because a) I'm mostly a rhythm player really, so I don't need much sustain and b) when I do try my hand at lead I like to play around with feedback :)

The big difference I found between the Casino and Sheraton (besides the obvious ones) is that the Casino's neck heel is a lot further up the neck then the Sheraton (about the 9th fret for the Casino vs. 12 for the Sheraton) this means that the Casino neck becomes a lot thicker a lot sooner and makes it difficult to fret bar chords.
