The big difference I found between the Casino and Sheraton (besides the obvious ones) is that the Casino's neck heel is a lot further up the neck then the Sheraton (about the 9th fret for the Casino vs. 12 for the Sheraton) this means that the Casino neck becomes a lot thicker a lot sooner and makes it difficult to fret bar chords.

This is the biggest difference i have noticed as well. The Casino does have the feel of a true hollow body which is good if you are playing a lot of standard position open chords and messing around on the low end, but it gets challenging once you get up towards the bridge. Nice fat tone though, really nice for jazz rhythm.

Why not try your hand at a Fender Thinline? My old roomate plays lead and sometimes rhythm in his Jazz/Funk/'The Band' type group and its right in the pocket, even through my lovely amp he borrows. Sounds like a hollowbody with the right EQ, and plays like a Strat with sunglasses on.

OH YEAH and i got one of these for christmas :) Im excited to learn how to play :

You're right, I looked up the regular Renown and not the Renown 400. The 600 watt figure is the power consumption. Here's the manual in case you haven't found it yet - http://www.peavey.com/assets/literature/manuals/80300142.pdf

There are a few others, but I cannot recall them at the moment. Must not be that memorable. On the lookout for a tremelo (EHX with copper plate would be cool) and chorus or bass chorus.

I've played it, it's oh so sweet, and yes I hate him for the rest of my life.

I paid $125 for mine. Sold it years later for $700 to a friend...cut him a deal. I couldn't take it across the country with me. I miss it

That thinline tele is sexy as hell. Is that his or just a random GIS find?

Also, Peavey amps kick rear end. I have two a few feet away from me and another in the trunk of my car. My Bravo 112 with a Celestion Vintage 30 is my main amp and it's just loving awesome. It's got a big ol' spring reverb tank the width of the amp at the bottom that is honestly the best sounding reverb I've ever used. I want another to put in my Vibrolux, whose reverb sounds weak and pathetic in comparison.

I got this beauty for my birthday after some long long convincing that I must have it. You should have seen the glow in my eyes the first time I saw it.

Click here for the full 1200x1600 image.

Its the Randy Rhoads RR3 Rhoads with an Alder body (with flame maple veneer on trans finishes), bolt-on maple neck, compound radius rosewood fingerboard, Seymour Duncan® humbucking pickups, Jackson low-profile double-locking tremolo and black hardware.
I love the guitar so drat much. It's been a long time since I wanted to play guitar, and this one makes me want to play every day.

Haha, I recieved the Hello Kitty Strat for Christmas as a (totally rad) white elephant gift. I'm going with an Evolution (in white, so it will look normal) and replacing every bit of electronics in it, probably the tuners as well, straploks, then taking it on stage for at least one song every set. It is hilarously and disastrously ugly, and yes, we are a hard-rock, alt-metal band.

I drank all the rum, I was at a house party, there was a fire pit, I had just had a really bad breakup the day before, and the police were after me. It was therapeutic and now my bullet riddled Esquirecaster is even more awesome. If I get the all rosewood neck it might be infinitely awesome, but I have to wait till my next paycheck or until I sell the original neck. :o:

Yeah, a white pickup would've been ideal but I already had a couple JBs sitting around waiting for homes. Luckily it doesn't look too awkward (in relative terms--it is a drat Hello Kitty guitar after all) to my eye with a black pup.

Replacing all the electronics is basically a given if you're touching anything in there, given how little there is. All that's left of the original wiring is the ground wire from the bridge, and I only changed 3 parts.

The stock wiring was surprisingly tidy, with the small amount of slack wire coiled up and zip tied. Only word of warning, the volume pot is a mini with a narrow (Gibson?) shaft. You might need to drill out the hole to fit a full-sized pot.

Tuners don't seem too bad so far. If they turn out to slip badly I've got a set from an MIM Strat I could use, hopefully without having to do any drilling to the back of the peghead.

A-ha. This guy's previous amps were... Gorilla amps. The year? 1989. Imagine if you will the gorgeous combination of the Gorilla amp and the Arion distortion pedal. The real offense of the Reknown was its ability to create sound pressure levels that were lethal to domestic pets and disabling to the hardiest human adolescent youths.

I returned that M-Audio ProjectMix I/O because it simply wasn't communicating with my computer, so I said "gently caress it, order me a Tascam FW-1082." They said "Okay, it'll be here next week."

I was expecting it to be "New-In-Box" but apparently not so. The box had apparently been opened, this must've been a floor model because it's got catalogue stickers on it, all of the proprietary manuals and included sofware were in a "Mother's Music" bag inside the box, and then when I take it out of the styrofoam a big black thing falls off.

gently caress AM I MAD.

Edit: I called up to the store I purchased it from and the assistant manager has been extraordinarily helpful each and every time something goes wrong so I shouldn't be mad at the company, really. He's ordered a new one and I don't have to take the 400km round trip back up there until they get it, up until that point I can use this one (assuming it's functional) and make the return when the new one arrives.
