At first I thought it might be from one of the Pirates movies, but it's not. Unfortunately, "movies with a character named Jack" doesn't narrow it down usefully.

Though not a son, but an album cover this has been bugging me for a while now. Actually since I first saw this cd There was a cd that came out when I was in high school somewhere from 1995-1998ish I think, with nearly identical cover art. A yellow background with a black tree. When I saw this one I thought it was the old one until I saw it was a new release from Jack Johnson. Anyone know the one I'm talking about that looks just like this? I've looked through the top 100 songs from each year from 1995 to 1999 and looked up all the bands listed that I thought could be it but no luck.

Not help identifying a song, but identifying a movie it was in. I tried the general wikipedia and imdb routes, but no luck. I'm almost positive I heard it in a movie or TV show, but just can't remember. Song- Step Into a World Artist- KRS-One

(production sounds a little on the cheap side somehow/not a big studio movie) Where did you get the file from originally? Maybe try running its 'acoustic fingerprint' through musicbrainz or freedb if the file is complete. I'm not sure how they identify the songs exactly but it's worth a shot.

this terrible hip hop song has been all over the radio in portland; I can't remember anything but one part of the rap, and it goes something like 'like a game of hide and seek, I find you, I get that you find me, you get that; either way we both win, and that's fair" the rapper had a dirty south type of voice, something like ludacris but a little dirtier. anyone have any idea what this is? pretty recent. edit nvm found it Solidus fucked around with this message at 09:00 on Jan 1, 2009 |

ToxicFrog posted:This has been driving me up the wall for four years. All I know about it is: I'd say its a TV show, sounds a bit too synthesized/low produced for a movie ( Unless it's a low budget movie I guess ). I was watching an episode of Buffy recently, thought I heard a similar sound, but I think it was different. It had the same 'matrix'-esque brass sound though, but I don't see where 'jack' would come into it at all.

This is going to be a really hard one but I am going to try my best to describe it. If someone actually gets this they are the undisputed king in my book. This song came out maybe 2 years ago, it was a small indie hit as I heard it at parties and bars for a couple of months. It was kind of a folky chanting song, sung by someone I can only describe as Joanna Newsome crossed with a muppet. I forget almost all of the lyrics but I know they something about George Bush in it. "George bush gonna bomb everyone" might be the line but I am not totally sure. The chorus also might say something like "lets get together and dah dah dah dah..." I thought it may have been cocorosie but I cant find it anywhere on itunes Thats all Ive got. Its one of the most annoying songs I have ever heard but its been stuck in my head for weeks and its driving me nuts. I need closure. I was at a show a year or two ago and there was sort of a lo-fi playlist on as the bands were setting up. I heard some sort of start/stop spoken word piece that I liked that I seem to remember repeating the phrase "it's the ice age, baby, deal with it." Ring any bells for anyone?

Im trying to find a band here, I saw a brief live peformance of them on live british TV a while back. It's an indie duo, a guy playing a vintage looking guitar finger picking, as in playing a bassline with his thumb and the melody with his fingers, and a woman who sang. Sorry for how vague this is but any ideas?

This is driving me crazy. And the more I try to recall details, the less I remember. I was at a sushi place and I heard an electronic song that I liked. Female vocals. The only lyrics I can remember, it was too difficult to make out any others with the noise of the place, were "and it lasts all day". That seemed to be a repeating chorus-like mantra in the song. There was also another line in the song that was sung exactly the same but with different lyrics than those. I know nothing else about the song. I don't know if its new, old, or what. I've been thinking about it so much that when I try to hum it in my head it's replaced with a Tiger Baby song that I know well, and thus I can't even remember the beat at this point.

In my art class the other day, I heard a sort of dancey electronic song with a singer that sounded a lot like the guy from Fall Out Boy or Panic! At the Disco. The only lyrics I could make out were "this made/makes me feel", then later (not too long after that line, pretty much almost the same line?) he says "forever".
