I remember following a link to a youtube clip from some live tv show where a woman played a guitar and just loops to form her song, I think it was kind of a folky song, anyone have any idea what I am talking about? I'ts not Imogen heap but thats what sparked my mind about this similar looping-video.

This thread is way too long for me to read through. Hopefully this hasn't been asked. In Tom Petty's dvd Running Down a Dream, near the middle to end, there's a song that they're singing live. They're talking about how their guitar player Howie died. The lyrics go something like "I'm going dooooowwwwn" and I've looked all over for this song, I can't figure out what Tom Petty song it is.

This isn't quite an ID request as much as "please help me find a copy of this song" request Last night on Sirius Chill, I heard an Underworld remix of Saint Etienne's "Cool Kids of Death," and I can't find somewhere to purchase this song. Any suggestions?

Need help identifying a rap song I heard a couple times several months ago. The refrain was basically a sample of a guy saying "I'm a 80s baby/I'm a-I'm a 80s baby." Other lyrics I remember are something about "Adidas shell toe, gold rope and a sick flow." Nothing at all on Google, I wonder if it's a local/unknown artist. (I'm in St. Louis.)

I need help with a really terrible song one of the cooks at work had playing in the back. I think one line of lyrics mentioned "lines on my face". The lead singer had a Scott Stapp like voice. This is all I have at the moment but if anyone has anything that is possible it would be awesome.

Starting about 1:07 into this video in this LP thread VoidBurger uses a couple of clips from a cover of Napoleon XIV's "They're coming to take me away, ha-haa!", and he credits it to Neuroticfish in the end of the video. I'm pretty sure that's not Neuroticfish though. Their version from the Gelb album is more an electro kind of thing while the one VoidBurger uses is more toward bluesy metal with guitar riffs and walking bass. Apparently someone told VoidBurger the band might actually be The Brothers or somesuch from Norway, but that doesn't help me much, as google gives me nothing but fish and original napoleons. I need to get my hands on that! Who made this cover? Where can I get it? Please help me NMD, you're my only hope!

Dammit, this should be really easy for this crowd, I just don't know about current popular music, and they lyrics are so generic as to give dozens of songs on Google. It's a big hip-hop hit last year, and the chorus is constantly descending in a minor key. Goes something like: "I'm a hustla with moooooney, gotta get my moooooney." Vaguely soulful-dark sounding, slightly robotic effect on the voice.

Alright, here's one I need help with, but I'm not confident I can describe it at all. I heard a song on a local hip hop station today, it's clear channel and I'm not exactly in a music mecca so I can't imagine anything they play should be that obscure. It was a hip hop song, obviously, with either one or more guy rapping. He/they sounded white, voices almost like the Beastie Boys. The chorus talked about drum beats, snares, ect, and I THINK the last line in the chorus was "... and let the bass drop." It sounded like a newer song based on the production/beat. Any guesses?

Nope, that's not it, classic track though. The key difference is that the production is much newer. I think I may just have to keep the radio on a little more often to see if I hear it again, I don't really remember it well enough to describe it well.

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask but can someone help me identify the sample used in here in this DJ Paul song. I checked the linear notes of the album but since it's a mixtape of sorts he doesn't give any credits.

This one may be too ambiguous. A few months ago, I found a youtube video of a bald (maybe balding) white guy (sort of chunky I guess) performing live on a small stage. The song had a bit of a hip hop vibe to it, even though it probably wasn't hip hop in the truest sense. The verses were very dissonant and odd, but the chorus was slightly catchy (and also kind of dissonant). The guy had very strange mannerisms, almost as if he was completely wasted, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't. He was just sort of stumbling awkwardly and making strange faces. I really I have no idea on lyrics, but if I had to guess, the chorus was something like.. "And I could buy new clothes And I could ....... <something that rhymes with clothes> And I could..... <something that rhymes with clothes>" I'm not sure if that's even right, but for some reason him starting each line in the chorus with "And I could" or maybe "If I could" or "And they can" or.. something... ugh..

German song on the Tony Hawk soundtrack. It had a regular thumping beat. The chorus went something like "Ein Nein Schlein, Schwinky Schwinky Schweine." I can't write in German so I'm just thinking of how it goes. Also, the sax song that has the video with the butt shaking. I can't remember anything about it.
