Maybe some other countries do it like that, but over here I've never seen any type of race on the street other than a drag race. If your area has a dedicated scene then the spots they race at (industrial parks mostly) are as safe for the public at large as it can get. The only people in danger at most street races are the people racing and the morons who put themselves in danger by standing alongside the "track".

This is where i'd link that awful lexus IS-F review which is on the same lovely level (if I could find it). They're all undeniably bad, and the ones here in canada are probably even worse. I'm just curious why 95% of NA review shows are "spec sheet + shots of it driving slowly down a country lane". Doesn't have to be top gear entertaining, but for gently caress's sake have some balls and tell people what you actually think.

They aren't interested in being entertaining, they are interested in retaining Mitsubishi sponsorship. Top Gear doesn't have that problem and it's the same reason why Top Gear US wouldn't work even if they got a crew that was both knowledgable and seemed like friends.

I didn't find this on Youtube, I posted it to youtube last night. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKV2KdGWAzs&feature=channel_page It's a boring 10 minute time lapse movie of my drive from work to home yesterday. It's Canada, it's snowy, but it has a soundtrack by Massive Attack and I, at least, think it's kinda neat. I even stopped in the midst of recording the video to help someone who got his car stuck in a snow bank but sorry, I did not record me helping him get unstuck as I turned off recording when I stopped to help and then started up again when done. Right before the stuck car you might spot a tree on the right with a large bare spot, which is the result of everyone and their dog going too fast through that corner and wrapping their vehicle around that tree. Someone imported a right hand drive Skyline and it lasted 2 weeks before he too wrapped it around that same tree. My hand brake is broken at the moment or I would have thrown in a lot of sideways action but when it gets fixed tomorrow I might make another video :P And then sometime in the next couple months I'll have to make yet another with my new Subaru! Be gentle.

Nice video, but I don't like the fade in/out between frames. Maybe you can increase the frame rate and eliminate the fade in/out? It makes it really disorienting when you're turning and other things kind of hard to make out. I imagine that, if you decide to get a little sideways, that the video will be hard to watch with the fading thing. Also, does the guy who imported the skyline know how to drive or is he just some rich guy with money to waste? Though the allure of a skyline is not as high, now that I see them everywhere around here in Japan
