I'm not quite sure what's going on here, but I'm almost positive I don't like it. Click here for the full 1290x754 image. If it's not just some redneck who has heinously abused a rusted-out Mustang with plastic body parts to turn it into a deformed aborted pseudo-clone of a car that was in a movie (Eleanor was silver, for starters), it's probably a scam. This is without a doubt a scam, a redneck with a fastback on blocks with a gutted interior will want way more than 6500 for it. 100% scam. And I dunno about you but I hate the loving Eleanor craze, with a white hot passion.

This thing is pretty unusual, but not a HAMMER. According to the seller, it is a real AMG imported legally into the US (AMG did not start importing until '94). It has not started in a year and looks to be a bottomless money pit, but man, it is pretty slick.

Weird, I had been under this false impression that AMG didn't actually exist prior to the C43 (I think that was the first official one), but I guess you learn something every day.quote:The release of the AMG Hammer sedan in 1986, based on the Mercedes-Benz W124, took AMG's performance modifications for a fast compact sedan to a new level. AMG made the world's fastest passenger sedan at the time, nicknamed the Hammer,[4] by tuning a Mercedes 5.6-liter V8 to 360 hp, and squeezing that motor into Mercedes' midsized 300-series sedan. It was very aggressive for the era with a modified Mercedes-Benz 5.6 liter engine, 32-valve cylinder heads and twin camshafts, good for 360 bhp DIN. It was said to be faster than the Lamborghini Countach from 60 to 120 mph.[5] Later models were even more powerful and introduced the 17" AMG Aero 1 Hammer wheels.

Prior to becoming a MBZ subsidiary, AMG also did a lot of Mitsubishis. I see these come up every once in a while. Sometimes I like to imagine an alternate timeline where Chrysler, MBZ and Mitsubishi never break up with each other and we all drive AWD, 4WS Turbo AMGs made in Normal, IL. It would all collapse into some kind of massive singularity of crankwalk, endlessly malfunctioning electrics and exploding A604s. EDIT: oh look EFB. I'm rather tempted to ask for pictures just to see how bad the damage is from the five or more accidents she says it has been in. My first car was a '97 Taurus, which was more like the car of shoddy build quality and glass transmissions... False edit: Should I be scared that the woman now wants to drive a truck after being in three accidents?

It's a 305 carbed '87 in the original yellow, '87 is the last year for that color so it will probably stay. I already picked up all the parts to fix it up also. Well, I posted this ad myself and it sold in about 3 hours to a guy cash in hand. Personally, I thought I would be lucky to have got $700 for it, but these little buggers do run on prayers and foul language. The front end did feel loose though.
