Figured I'd try here - the odds of finding this song are slim to none... Okay, there was a YTMND a while back - it was basically a lame one with Dr. L337 putting on an Indiana Jones hat - it was just a rip off of one of the scenes from Temple of Doom, blah blah blah. The YTMND itself was stupid, but in the background was the best cover of "I Need a Hero" I've ever heard - way better than the original version. I wish I hadn't closed that YTMND because like most really lame Dr. L337 YTMNDs it was gone within thirty minutes...and of course as is typical with YTMND, the damned song wasn't identified. So, all I have to go on: It was a cover of "I Need a Hero." It was a much slower version (slow like Radiohead's "Creep"). It was a male vocalist (as best I can tell - it sounded male at least). It was on some YTMND that I haven't been able to find since seeing it. I've searched most sites for "I Need a Hero" covers and have come up pretty empty. I know it wasn't Emery, though that version came pretty close. I was hoping maybe someone here could at least point me in the right direction. Thanks

The actual title of the Bonnie Tyler original is "Holding Out For a Hero," a quick check of Wikipedia led me to this, it has to be it: http://www.dovemanmusic.com/footloose.htm Just skip to track four on the imbedded player.

There was a YouTube video posted about a week ago somewhere on NMD that featured a very old school rap video from I believe 1974. It was a man doing a freestyle rap about how he went to his friends house and was served food but did not want to eat it. It was very funny and I would love to find the video again. I'd be very happily surprised if anyone could find this. I did a lot of searching on google and youtube but to no avail.

Another old school hip-hop question. I was listening to Backspin and they played an amazing song that I now can't remember. It had fairly sparse production and I know the name of the artist/group was somewhat long and ended with "corporation". Edit: Found out it was Masta Ace Incorporated Jive One fucked around with this message at 08:52 on Feb 15, 2009 |

This is kind of a combination identify a song & identify an album type of thing. I remember a year or more a go I listened to an album that I enjoyed, but I don't remember much about it anymore. All I can remember is that I think there was a general haunted/ghost theme on t. I think one of the songs was definitely about a ghost, and the only thing I can remember is that I think there was an old/haunted house on the cover of the album. Anyone got any ideas?

Unique request: I need to know the classical song that another song is based off of. Right now I'm listening to "Mozart & Madness" by Savatage. I'd like to know what classical piece this is supposed to be a rendition of. Help!

I think you would probably classify this band as indie as well, but it was kind of on the fence. The only other thing I can remember is that I think one of the song titles was about a ghost, and the ghost was refered to as Mr. something or other. I realize this is not much to go on, I wish I had more info to give.

I'm reposting this because it's been a couple of months with no luck yet and perhaps some fresh traffic might know. Or even who makes music like that? Edit: I should also add that googling for the music used in that episode yields lots of results, all of which have several songs, none of which include this one. I realize I will not likely get an answer since I have so, so little info to go on and I was never able to make out any lyrics. But here's what I can tell you * Came out sometime between 2006 and 2008 * Female vocalist * Chorus sections have the "ah" sound of one word extended for about four seconds, dropping down the scale and coming back up two steps; I don't know what actual word has this "ah" sound though * The outro is sort of a ridiculous bombastic brass section thing Any ideas? I've only heard little bits and pieces in grocery stores and restaurants and have never been able to make out enough words to google it

This song is stuck in my head, and I know it's in my library somewhere but I can't remember who or what it is. It sounds like "Knife" by Grizzly Bear in terms of music, and the only lyric I can remember is an echo-y refrain of the word "radiation." Please help! Ok, I have (part of) this song stuck in my head for 3 days now and I need to exercise it. The only lyrics I can identify are 'a-la-la a-la-la'. The music video for the song is a giant dimly-lit wedding fight...played in reverse (with close ups of the band members and various people getting injured in reverse. Band is female fronted, if that helps... EDIT: Wow, I feel dumb. The song is 'Alala' by CSS. Durr.... clredwolf fucked around with this message at 01:25 on Feb 20, 2009 |

A year and some change ago I heard a song on the radio somewhere near the New Mexico-Arizona state lineup near Gallup. It seemed to go on for ages. It was an electronic/dance version of "Ay Papito" by Manu Chao. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUbTA5vfpOU It had a woman singing it a little bit more emphatically, and repeating "Alright!" every so often in a voice that sounded almost exactly like Milla Vodello in Psychonauts. (for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ISw46MG_s3E ) Anyone know who I was hearing?

I'm looking for a song that I believe features Wyclef Jean. He only song the hook and there was at least two rappers on it. All I remember is one time Wyclef says "That feelings calling and I'm going to be there." Google isn't helping so I turn to you goons. This song is from before 2005 or even 2004.

I'm having trouble finding a version of a song i swear I've heard. It's a funky old track with the lyrics "Remember me, i'm the one who had your babies eyes." and "geng g-g-geng geng geng geng" It's not Woman of the Ghetto by Marlena Shaw, or Blueboy - Remember me. I swear i heard someone like Aretha Franklin, Lynn Collins singing it. Maybe i'm imagining it. It's driving me nuts though. Help please?
