The engine was used to power several models and derivatives of the M4A3 Sherman tank. The engine displaces 1100 cubic inches, and puts out over 1000 ft lbs of torque from idle to 2600 rpm. Maximum rated horsepower was 525@2800 rpm though most models were rated at 450HP. Good lord the torque, and a 32 valve engine in the 40's. In a tank.

hippynerd posted:That looks like an awful lot of fun. We hired a pyrotechnics expert ("professional arsonist," as he put it) who set up four big fireballs and one cannon that blew the windshields out. You can see one of them fly out, but the other flew another 50 feet away. You can see it take off right after the explosion. We blew it up at the firefighter training facility in Overland Park, Kansas. The building on the right in the foreground (with the cameraman on the balcony) is a big brick building they light on fire and train in.

ARGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH. Okay I posted like weeks ago asking for the name of a movie given the fact that it was Japanese and from the 90's and contained drifting and other motorsport. Well, after a bunch of searching youtube japan with google translate I finally found the name of the video was KABOIDORIKON ... or CARBOY. A bunch more searching and I find it was called "CARBOY 300" and was a compilation of footage from Carboy Magazine from 88 to the mid 90's. I know I originally got this from AI quite a while back, so has anybody still got it on their Hard-Drives or something?
