I had a DREAM I was listening to the latest podcast last night and it was Dr. Drew & D.A.G. as guests, and they were all just chatting jovially about the good old days and I thought "Phew. I'm glad Drew and DAG have patched things up since DAG's podcast, I was worried there."

So maybe I just missed it along the way.. but is anyone else having problems getting the new podcast? I downloaded the first three from a mirror, but I can never get the others from the site. I'd heard they were exceeding bandwidth before.. but I've not been able to get any of them yet.

I think it's because it was going out live so they just started to capture it a minute or two into it starting. Thankfully though no Ben Stein!

I'm listening to the 2005-3-01 episode, and it starts off with Adam ripping on Drew for his refusal to donate. 2005-1-05 is the episode with Linkin Park in the studio. I'm assuming this is the original incident he's talking about, since I skipped it because I can't stand Linkin Park.

You know, I hate Linkin Park, but they make great guests. They seem to love Adam, so its almost like he has a studio audience whenever they're there. The one in 2001 is a good episode, so the 2005 on should be too.

Nemo posted:That's one of the great things about Loveline. Sometimes crappy bands or stars of crappy shows become the best guests. I was pleasantly surprised by John Mayer and Matthew Lillard too. I heard Tom Arnold on the show back in 2005 or thereabouts and he was so honest and open that it totally turned me around on the guy.

Yeah I was a little suprised by the Drew story seeing as it was the first time I heard it. Drew's excuse about Katrina was such Bullshit too. He didn't want to give the money plain and simple, so he should've just said it. Saying that "You don't know where the money's going" is just assholish on his part. You could say it about ANY charity. It's nice that Drew and Adam are obviously still friends but I'm suprised they are after the Salary thing. The lower wage was obviously to get Adam off the show, but furthermore I think that Drew wanted him off. Lest we forget what Drew was actually there for; to provide a service. Adam would rant for 45 minutes and though entertaining, at the end of the day it's not what drew was there to do.

I'm confused why the show wanted him gone. I understand he used it more as a vehicle for his comedy than helping confused kids, but that's what made the show actually entertaining enough to have an audience.

You could put a beaver on the top of the empire state building, it doesn't matter, because the only thing it's going to do is build loving dams. Program directors don't know how to work with Adam, because he isn't the norm. He really isn't afraid of saying things he sees as the truth, and I'm sure this can be a little intimidating to most program directors. So the very thing that makes Adam a God in most people's mind is what makes his boss' afraid of him.

Frequently on LoveLine Adam would be told - TALK LESS, TAKE MORE CALLS. And Anderson - NO DROPS. Recipe for gold? Adam recognised how retarded his execs were with these orders throughout the show.
