Yay Buell army! Imperador do Brasil, how are you liking it? This is from last spring when I installed my fender eliminator. Despite what you may think, fender eliminators DO, in fact, eliminate the fender. After every ride now I have a pile of rocks on my seat.

Sup Buellers. Originally looked like this: I just hacked my cheesegrater off when I saw the cheapest eliminator was $300. It turned out ok. Since it's getting warmer, I'm about ready to replace my handguards with some handlebar mirrors that I bought last year, cause mine also only reflect my shoulders.

My best friend is moving to Germany in a month and he didn't want to take his bike with him so I inherited a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero with <8k miles. It's made a great replacement for my cm400 which has become a rust-trap since I moved it down to the beach two years ago. (sorry for the lovely cell phone pics) Click here for the full 960x784 image.

I can't compare them to the stockers, because I bought mine with them, but I've had the normal mirrors on my old SV (they looks similar to the stockers), and they gave me a great view of my shoulder, and that's it. Yamaha used some pretty crappy fasteners back in the day. Every single screw on my RD350 was like butter. You'll learn to love the socket cap screw section of your local hardware store soon enough.

When I was doing my YDS3 I just gave up and bought those variety boxes of stainless socket cap and hex bolts. Also an impact driver is a must for getting screws off yamaha bikes. Using either an impact wrench or twisting them by hand will result in tears. The impact driver is a nice middle ground.

Well, the easiest solution is just to get a grey bike - mine was unwashed for ~2 months (in Victoria, so we're about the same for rain/road grime), and about the only place that it was noticeable was the windscreen. Otherwise, I'd also like to know, as I do like having a shiny bike, but don't feel like spending an hour every week to keep it that way.

The easiest way, especially if your bike is getting dirty from riding in the rain is to hose it down quickly when you get home. Instead of drying with lovely road grime water on it, it dries with clean water.

Its either wash it or leave it as it is.

Hello there... I started riding on the street about 3 years ago. Before that I had owned numerous enduros and dirt bikes as a kid. Here is my 1st, a 2001 GSXR 600. I got it for a good price because it had fallen off a trailer the week before and had quite a bit of damage on the right side. Silver was nice enough to go with me to pick it up, and even hauled it back home for me. After a year I was sick of the messed up fairings and paint. I repaired the side fairing, bought a upper and tail as well. Then I proceeded to give it the "toughest" paint job I knew of... bedliner... because I was sure that I would drop it again (which I never did). One day I decided that I wanted a twin. I got this Buell Firebolt XB9R in a trade for an car i wasn't using. It had the race ECU and a Jardine can on it. This bike was nice for my 100 mile a day commute but lacked power and reliability. Unfortunately for me, I had already sold my GSXR. Soon I found out that this bike liked to snap drive belts and lose bolts quite often. The lack of reliability led me to purchase my current bike... 2007 GSXR 600. When I picked this bike out, it was still in the crate. It's now got a Micron GP slipon, K&N filter, heated grips, and Gerbings heat troller (because I ride it year round). So far i've got 19K miles on it and no problems whatsoever. With as wonderful as this bike has been, it's currently for sale so I can get a 04+ R1

Sorry for the poor quality cell phone pictures. I know it's a bit ricer/squidish but I got some blue rim tape. Hey, it was cheap. I wasn't sure how it'd look on white wheels. I think it looks alright. They're reflective to boot. Which is never a bad thing at night.

Precurved stuff is pretty simple, its just a matter of lining it up. Straight tape is a little harder. You have to work it on inch by inch so it gets around the wheel without kinking. It helps if the wheel/tape/surrounding air/your hands are warm when you do it.
