Work on getting it consistantly a few inches or a foot or 2 off the ground and setting it down gently, and work your way up. Not that you should be pulling wheelies on public streets or anything.

Not horrible, I've seen (and done) much worse. Wheelies are one of those things that are honestly best learned either on the dirt or in a big parking lot with a bike you don't care about dropping...his choice of practice location isn't exactly ideal. Basically, once the front end starts getting up a reasonable amount, throttle goes off and the front end comes down hard. It's just instinct, really...if you can learn to override that, your front end will last a lot longer. Stoppies were always my thing though. Wheelies are cool but stoppies are a lot more fun in my book
