The waterproof case it comes with does a great job at blocking the windnoise. At the same time it's terrible if you want to film anything quieter than an engine.

I had a conversation with a couple of cops right after I parked my bike around the corner from In N Out Burger. Two other guys and I had just parked when a cop car pulled up with its lights going, and two cops got out. The conversation went something like this:

Cop 1: Where are you from.

Me: We're from all over.

Cop 1 (looking annoyed): Where are you from?

Me: SF

Going down the line, all three of us were from SF.

Cop 2: Sounds like you're all from SF. That's not "all over."

Me: There are guys around the corner too. *shrug*

Cop 1: What are you guys doing?

Me: We're just here to get a burger.

Cop 1: Are you with a large group?

Me: We're with some friends, yeah.

Cop 1: We've had people calling in about you guys. We've had reports from all around the city. People said that you all were doing wheelies and speeding.

Cop 2: That's called exhibition of speed.

Me: :| Hey, I don't even know how to do a wheelie. I keep both of my tires on the ground.

Cop 2 starts talking to the other two guys. Cop 1 shifts his vibe and starts being pretty cool.

Cop 1: Look, we're not here to mess with you. A large group of motorcycles scares some people, and they call us. Tell your guys to take it easy.

Me: No problem.

Cop 1: What are you doing from here?

Me: We're just eating a burger and heading home. Most of the guys have already left. The night's over for us. Honestly, yeah, there was "a guy" popping a couple wheelies. We know that's dangerous, and we don't condone it. Last time we rode around like this a guy doing wheelies was taken away in cuffs. We try to take it easy and just have a good time. Like I said, we're all done tonight. Folks are heading home.

Cop 1: Ok. Just be sure to tell your folks to slow down. Have a good night.

So yeah, the cops were pretty cool once I dropped the attitude and showed them some respect. I think that this sheds some light on last month. People see us swarming by, get freaked out, and call the cops. That's something that we're going to have to factor into the ride. That tells me that cops aren't trolling BARF looking for our route. They can converge pretty quickly once they have us in sight, though. I suggest that we keep off of the freeways and stick to less traveled parts of the city for a while. The cops won't know where we are unless we hit a more populated and touristy area like North Beach or the Pier. Oh yeah, slow down. There, I told you guys :twofinger

idiot or not, what kind of person doesn't stop to help?
you've got a motorhome that is probably the only vehicle capable of taking the guy to a hospital or at least a populated area where he can get help. At least make sure he's ok to ride.
When I crashed my bike, people were tripping over themselves to help me out and make sure I was ok. It's loving disgusting that those cretins in the motorhome didn't stop.

To be fair, you can't see what they are seeing. They could have seen him get up and appear ok. If he needs transportation they should have given him a ride to the nearest MSF course.

I know the exact road and corner that happened on, and its almost a vertical drop going off of that.

There was a guy that died yesterday on the same road when he went off the side and couldn't be found for 4 hours. They had to go corner by corner looking off of the side of the road.

Glad people stopped for you. I've come off my bike 3 times, and I lost count how people drove past whilst I was sprawled on the ground. I did have one car driver honk at me, I assume for blocking the road with my sprawled bike and body. I was so terribly sorry for inconvieniencing him. One nice Fiesta stopped once, but I'd just managed to get the bike upright and was checking I still had my fingers and toes, so I think I just stared at him blankly for 10 seconds, and then said "um, yeah, thanks" in respose to his query.

I call this itsahonda.jpg

I have the wrong year (for the motor) wiring harness draped over the frame of my CT/RV90 hybrid. Its running a Radio Shack rectifier, using a condenser from a CB750, a coil from the wrong year CT90, and an ignition switch from a CT70.

I hooked up my charger, set it to 6 volts, turned the ignition switch on, jumped the wires for the killswitch, turned the motor over, and it sparked!

Typical Honda, even when it shouldnt, it works.
