There was a music video where some Japanese guys were watching a fat friend on a DDR machine in some girls panties to sell them to someone else.

Any combination of words I search for is ending in pain.

A witch is always a lady except when circumstances dictate otherwise.
There was a very infectious, visually bold Vietnamese pop music video I stumbled onto years ago. It featured a prominent, young female vocalist and some backup singers and they spent much of their time in red outfits or traditional Vietnamese dress with long gold finger ornaments while playing a traditional lap guitar-like intrument. It resembled a shamisen. I would say the music video, based on the film quality, was recorded sometime in the '90s.

The hook was in English and it was "Wo ai ni, I love you, wo ai ni, I need you" and then Vietnamese lyrics. I do not remember how they were spelled. The song has been stuck in my head on and off for years and it popped back in and now I cannot sleep. So catchy! Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's pretty cute.

Edit: it is NOT done by Da Buzz, China Dolls, or anything else on youtube. I've looked. It's very upbeat, almost stereotypically Vpop. It's adorable and the music video is unique--I haven't seen anything similar before or since. Also, I'm pretty sure it's Vietnamese because it had lyrics subtitles in Vietnamese "romanji" and English, and I'm pretty sure Chinese, Korean, and Japanese do not use words resembling "thuoc," "dahn," etc. This is driving me nuts! Thanks in advance!

I must have seen this video maybe 5-6 years ago, it was at least before YouTube.

Basically, it was this independent short film (only a few minutes). It started off with a class, group or team being taught how to play a basketball game (or some sort of game involving a basketball). The instructor was droning on and on about the specifics about how to handle the ball while the players sat in a circle bored out of their minds. A couple of them begin miming killing themselves to each other to express their boredom. One of them points his finger to his head like a gun and "pulls" the trigger and...he actually shoots himself dead as if it were a real gun complete with blood spatter. The entire video then descends into completely mindless violence as the various players engage in a shoot-out with each other.. I can't remember how it ends, but the shift in tone was VERY abrupt.

I didn't see this get answered, but I'm fairly certain what you seek is in this link.

I posted this in PYF but that went nowhere. I'm not sure where I came across it, however I read an amusing review of an episode of GI Joe, "The Great Alaskan Land Rush." I've googled it and searched places such as SA looking for it, but all I find are regular episode guides.

The review itself dove into the warped morality of GI Joe and all the bizarre plot points of the legal ownership of Alaska resting in some magic goblet or some such nonsense. I mentioned it discussing the possible impending horrors of the upcoming movie to show it couldn't really be worse than the original show.

Not really internet related, but I can't find any tetris music online other than Tetris A.

I used to work at an arcade and played tetris a lot just cause each level had a different and awesome song playing, but I can't find any of them aside from the most well-known melody. If it helps at all, the machine at our arcade was from the 80's and the soundtrack may have been updated since then, but if anyone can help it'd be great.

This one is pretty recent. I discovered a simple online game no more than a year or two ago. It's a sidescroller where you're a dog tied to an old man in a wheelchair who is playing a guitar (there's also awesome guitar music in the background). The goal is to pull him to the finish points because, as an old man, he can't get there himself.

That's about all I remember. I don't really know what to search for because Googling "old man dog wheelchair" mostly gets me results about wheelchairs for dogs.

Edit: I'm pretty sure I originally found it on addictinggames, but I couldn't seem to track it down when I looked there.

I believe that this flash was made because of a challenge; Someone did not think that the creator could combine tanks and metal gear solid and something else, but he did and it was glorious. I think a tank plays the role of snake and he sneaks behind mountains to assassinate other tanks.

Change sides? I don’t recall ever saying I was on yours.
I can all but guarantee that no one will manage this one:

Back in like 1995 a couple guys on IRC decided it'd be funny to create hype for a fake, forthcoming Nine Inch Nails album called "Impossible Pain". The guy created some crappy cover art for it, but for some reason--probably since I literally haven't seen it once since then (14+ years!?)--I developed a fascination with somehow finding it again.

It appeared on a site purporting to be Trent's personal homepage called "Reznor's Edge", but the only thing I've ever found is tangential discussion on the topic. The actual fake cover art appears to be lost in the sands of time.

If anyone could actually find that image, my mind would be bloooooooooown.

Years ago, there was this website, something along the lines of "Sam The Goat."

It was a collection of stories that some (probably 15 year old) guy had written about his pet goat, Sam. The stories always ended with Sam being comically mutilated or some other nonsense.

Once, he put up a version of the riddle, "If you have a goat, a cabbage, and a wolf, and need to cross a river with them..." His solution was, "I put the goat, the cabbage, and the wolf into the boat. I send the boat to the other side. Wolf attacks goat, goat attacks cabbage, cabbage attacks wolf. Boat comes back for me."

I guess what I'm asking is: Is this site still around? If not, is it archived somewhere? If not, am I the only one that remembers it?

The best I've been able to find is a reference to it at some blog.

It mentions memepool, which is how I seem to remember finding it, too.

I guess this is sort of pre-Internet, but...

I used to have a CD called "Family Fun", which was really just a collection of programs and funny quotes amassed from Usenet. One of the programs on there was essentially a customizable headline generator, with an editable text file it used to generate headlines from the commandline.

Something like:

[CELEBNAME] seen in [LOCATION] with [CELEBNAME]

would turn into:

Michael Jackson seen in café with Oscar Meyer

Only more creative.

There's also a program I remember called BABBLE, which would randomly generate gibberish text - also in MS-DOS. I only had the 'unregistered' shareware version, which had a few generator files but promised more after registration.

If anyone could find me the former, or a full version of the latter, I'd appreciate it.

This technically isn't internet, but so help me god, if someone helps me find this I will love them for the rest of my loving life.

Back around 1999/2000, there was a show called "Happy Hour" on USA hosted by Dweezil and Ahmet Zappa. It was sort of like Whose Line Is It Anyway meets a concert show meets a battle of the sexes. Now, I'd be happy to find any episodes of it at all, but there is one episode/moment in particular that remains one of the greatest things I've ever seen and basically single-handedly created my love of improv. There was an episode that Wayne Brady was on, and according to Ahmet's "calculations" (just like on Whose Line, the points were more of a jokey schtick than anything) the men were losing horribly, but the Zappa brothers offered the men an opportunity to redeem themselves. They requested that Wayne do an improv song about his experiences on the night, bonus points if he included the phrases "Raccoon bacon" and "Chicken pot pie". Seemingly effortlessly, Wayne does it. Ahmet's reaction remains forever etched in my memory. I'd kill to see that again.

For the record, the women still won, which was a crock of poo poo because the song was loving incredible. :argh:

EDIT: Again, technically not internet, but I didn't know where else to ask. I need help, goons. :( Also, I'd assume there are really no files issues here since AFAIK the show is not commercially available and if it did ever become so, I'd buy a hat just to eat it.

I can remember an old tower defense game which I used to love but have never been able to find since.

  • Was made in java, not flash
  • Was in a fantasy setting. You fought skeletons, orcs, catapults.
  • Your tower was in the center of the screen, you had a birds eye view of the battlefield. The enemies attacked from all angles.
  • You had to control where your archers shot, and could upgrade the amount of arrows.
  • You could also fire grenades at bigger targets, and maybe cast different spells.
  • I'm sure it was called bastille, or basilus or something like that.
