I'm trying to find a song for someone. It's from the 90's, a Goo Goo Dolls type band, only thing she can remember is the beat goes " na na na na naaaaaaa"

Something slightly vague, and for that I apologize. All I can recollect off this track is that the title is something like "Dancing Under the City Lights in the Fall" or something akin to that, possibly something like "Driving Down Under The City Lights". The only way I can describe it is ambient with a beat. If I had to compare it to band I'd say it would be mostly like an upbeat Boards of Canada. Again, I apologize for the vagueness.

- A song by Mike Oldfield.

- In its music video skies are going by in the background meanwhile shadows of people are singing in the foreground.

- I cannot remember if the lyrics included something about flying, but it is definitely a possibility.

I'm trying to remember this song I used to hear occasionally on my dad's clock radio and that I also heard once through someone's way-too-loud headphones on the train.

What I know about it is a cheesy 80s type synth line. It's a fairly energetic song. It goes something like:

doo duh deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
doo duh deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee dah duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh doooooooooooooooooooo

There may have been male vocals too. I've tried asking multiple people and it's been driving me crazy for over two years now. I can probably dig up a mic and post a mp3 of me humming it, if necessary.

Since reading text humming is dumb, I threw together a craptastic midi that comes as close to the main riff as I possibly could: http://www.partyhard.info/sa/80SSONG.MID Any help in identifying this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a Cure song I heard. It's got a fairly long intro then some singing, and the one thing I remember about the intro is that it had echoes in it of one of their more popular songs, possibly Just Like Heaven. Ring any bells?

That's it! Thank you, this has been bugging me for over two years now, and it's nice to finally get an answer.

edit: What's kind of funny is that the main synth line didn't play when I opened the midi on Ubuntu, and thinking about someone trying to guess the song based on that drum beat would be nothing but an exercise in hilarious frustration.

Probably way off base here, but that seriously reminds me of Civ's Can't Wait One Minute that was used in a Nissan commercial a few years ago.

I had been listening to Dire Straits all week in the office, so it's likely I would have suggested one of their songs regardless of what ended up playing, heh.

From what I can remember it was fairly mellow, and had a female vocalist. Also, the commercial I saw was most likely from the late 90s, early 2000s. The help is appreciated, though.

Spring 2008 in London, I heard this song on the radio a bunch of times and now I can't find it to save my life. It had the repeated lyric "since you been gone" and the singer was male. The song had a light, upbeat, summery feel to it. Maybe a tiny bit reggae or latin.

This is a bit of a long shot, but I am looking for a song with the following lyrics. My friend claims it was all over the radio in San Diego in 2000 and sounded vaguely like Blink 182. Frankly, it sounds terrible, but I would like him to shut up about it.

'Cali is like the sunshine in the valley without rain. I want to shoot it in my membrane, I can't maintain without you here.

Cali and me is like a Mexican beer, Corona you're my Sharona, the place where my mother cried, 'cause my brother died and dried tears never feel like leaving.

So I'm going back to Cali, going back to Cali, I said I'm going back to cali where the sunshine set is making me sweat, I shed blood on this turf called mother Earth.

There's this song I've been hearing on the radio recently. Female vocals with a big crescendo that goes "Oooh-ooh, oooh-ooh" and one of the lines of lyrics seems to be "Let'cher hair down [...] Listen to the beat go doma dome". It's all sung in a rather high pitch, by one? singer with a few backups.

Unfortunately "Listen to the beat go" isn't getting me anything on google, so it seems I have that wrong? Sigh. :(

Edit: "Up down turnaround"

Pop (not dance but regular pop - I think a guitar is involved)
Girl singing (she is a brunette/blond and wears a hat in some scenes.. a "bøllehat" to be precise - sorry I don't know what you would call such a thing in English but one normally uses it to screen for the sun - no I'm not thinking about a regular cap.)
Something about "have/having fun"
I'm not thinking about "All I wanna do" by Sheryl Crow
The music video have some guys and girls on a trip - I think - and at some point they are at a bar/disco whatever.

If you figure this one out I'll be thankful as well as impressed.

Just saw it on VH1.

I'm sorry this is vague but I am dying for a remix of 'harder better faster stronger' by daft punk. I hear it in clubs lately but not up until the past few weeks, so I assume it's new. I live in Newcastle, Australia so it's possible it's not brand new and it took awhile to get to me or some such.

Arggh I can't really describe it, I haven't noticed them say the actual harder better faster stronger words it seems to focus on "work it takes us,... do it makes us" and later on I hear "never over" over and over. Man that is such a bad description, I guess any new really happy remixes would be appreciated. It's really really happy and light hearted... it sounds I guess hopeful is how I would describe it. I'm sorry that's so very massively vague. Feel free to laugh me out of the forum :( it isn't the neptunes remix or diplos work is never over.

I should remember this, but I don't.

Electronic music song, french house/funk/disco in the vein of Justice/Daft Punk. Notable for it's music video: A supermodel gets out of a car and starts walking through the streets of Paris completely naked. A third of the way through another supermodel takes over, and then a third towards the end. The "naughty bits" are covered by black bars which display the lyrics of the song.

Great song, great video.

EDIT: Found it (:nws: if your employer doesn't like nude supermodels covered by black censor bars)
