I'm actually trying to figure out the band, here are some of the clues that I can pull from my memory: Song clues - On one of their albums, possibly their debut, one of the songs contains the word "Rosemary" in the lyrics... I believe in the verse. - The verse of this song was mostly just the bass guitar, with "Rosemary" sung somewhere in there - All instruments came in during the chorus. - I think this song was near the top of the album, possibly even the first song. Band info - I think they were somewhat popular around 2004-2006. - I THINK they may be European. No accent can be heard though. - The singer (male) has a distinctive voice, I can't think of any other singer to compare to. Mid-range-ish, but not a lot of dynamics, and strong. - He sung pretty much the same way through-out the whole album. This is driving me crazy. Especially because I think I had their album downloaded back in the day and listened to it fairly often. FlashingLights fucked around with this message at 00:35 on Aug 28, 2009 |

No problem!Final Fantasy Baseball posted:I wish I could be more specific: I'm going to quote myself from 6 months ago since I just replied to this thread again, because I can still hear this song in my head and I've gotten nowhere with it. I wish I could be more specific, but the only other things I remember are the "I thought I could change the world while I was sleeping(???) / I thought I could change, but I was wrong" part of the chorus. The chords in the chorus are roughly: F, C, C#, G#, G repeated I think....an all girl vocalist punk band...California......aghgrrrrrrrrrghghrghrghgh. edit - I can't believe I'm doing this but what the hell I'm not doing anything important now anyway. The note should go exactly over what note the word sung is. I haven't heard this song in a year but I have perfect pitch so I'll do what I can code:
(F) I thought I could change (C) (C#) (G#) the world (G) while I was (sleeping?) (F) I thought I could change (C) (C#) (G#) but I was (G) wrong edit 2 - the amount of effort that I've put into worrying about this completely eclipses how much I actually liked this song Final Fart Buttball fucked around with this message at 01:04 on Aug 28, 2009 |

I don't know if this necessarily constitutes itself as a song identification, but rather, a rare vinyl identification. My friend described to be a series of vintage records from the 40's or 50's that were terrible, awful pornographic stories with bad actors. Apparentally, the guy who made the albums was known for putting out albums of this quality, and I really want to figure out who it is. Thanks!

There was a horrible rap/hip hop piece which started with a woman wailing the unforgettable words "NIGGA SOMETHING JEALOUS". It was the height of hilarity to a group of hungover people and i would like to know exactly what the hell it was about

There was a song my mom and I listened to when I was younger. It was by one of the male members of Boston or REO Speedwagon or Journey or Fleetwood Mac, and was about his little demon or devil or monster, his cocaine addiction. My mom denies this song even exists, and google won't help me.

I've started watching the first season of Heroes tonight, and there's a song that was featured in the first and fourth episode (it plays at the very beginning of the fourth episode) and I'm not really sure if IMDB could help me find it, but I figured I might as well ask here if someone knows. EDIT: IMDB says it's a song by The Rogue Waves, they any good? RedneckwithGuns fucked around with this message at 07:56 on Aug 30, 2009 |

I heard this song tonight that sounded like it was sung by Joe Cocker, but the instrumentation sounded like Ray Charles. The only lyrical phrases I could make out are "I don't care" and "I'm going home." It was played on a radio station that plays a lot of mainstream hits. Any ideas?

I don't know where else to post this, sorry if this is the wrong place, but my issue isn't in identifying the song itself, but rather identifying the genre. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aw0p2jyapWk At about 1:30 he starts singing, skip to around 2:30 for the climax. It's in Russian, but I'm sure there are American bands who sing this genre too, right?

I overheard this song a couple times on the Sirius indie station recently, but I didn't catch the title or artist. It was a simple, upbeat pop song with a bouncy rhythm. The thing that stuck out was the rhythm was played on a either a steel drum or a synth that sounded like one. More than likely it's a song from this year. Kinda vague, but I'm sure somebody knows what I'm looking for.

I think there were also tracks by System of a Down, Anthrax, and Dropkick Murphys (!) on the same disc. I can't even understand enough of the lyrics to use Google, heres hoping someone recognizes it, cause its driving me mad.

I can only describe this song by describing the video. The band are drinking beer and heckling a bunch of LARPers from their car. They go to their garage playing the song and drinking beer. When the middle 8 hits they return in suits of armour made of beer cans and start beating the crap out of the LARPers.

Sounds a bout right. It was labeled Somewhere I Belong now that I think about it when I got it off Kazzaa I think a while back. Time matches up (some guy said it's 6:16 or whatever). Unfortantely all traces of this band have been erased. Their site doesn't exist anymore and youtube/iTunes/google turns up nothing. At least I can label it now, though I wouldn't mind finding some more of thier stuff. Than you very much, I tried google searching the lyrics so however you dug this up color me impressed.

I'm trying to find a song that I've only heard once in passing. The best I've got is that it sounds similar to the melody in Royksopp's "Happy Up Here". It's got a similar tone, but more chopped up, syncopated. Kinda off beat too. I've been trying to use Pandora but no luck. It might be a hip hop song, I thought maybe Sound Providers but that's not it. Maybe something more mainstream? I realize this is ultra vague but if anyone has ideas I'm all ears. It's frustrating because I heard only briefly, really liked it, but got no good leads on what it was.
