I'm just glad I didn't start reading Berserk when it started 20 years ago. It's only been about 8 years or so since I've started reading it and I'm already going mad with how long it's been going on and how slow the chapters are released. I can't imagine what some people who have been following the manga since it started are going through.

Berserk is like a fine whiskey that only get delivered twice a year. When you get it you marvel at it , taking you time to sip and let it last. You feel a little bit sad when you finish this bottle, but you know the next one is gonna be just as good. Then you go take it to the back room where you have all the previous bottles placed... left there so you can look at them again.

It's the last page that interests me to the most because it's good to know Miura remembers how to draw Guts, even if it wasn't a part during the chapter. So Griffith has reshaped the world, and is now its magical emperor or whatever. Fine, that has plenty of potential for problems for Guts and company. But they're not going to be able to deal with that immediately so like GET BACK TO THEM ALREADY.

I don't know, the two double page spreads of Griffith in a row just felt like padding-they could have easily been merged without losing anything. Same with the four pages of glowing branches that opened the chapter.

Honestly, if the releases were more steady, or if the thing were already done, this would be some of the most moving plot and artwork that I've ever seen. It just happens that I get pissed off waiting for the next release. If he actually ever finishes the series, it will be a beautiful work of art.

If you got that wish and then years later you went back and read the whole thing you'd get this wonderful sense of awe and then boom bang all over for no reason. Sure, you get your quick fix of closure but you're losing out on the feeling of epic that exudes from every pore of this manga. He just needs to quit playing hentai games.
