I hope this isn't a repost: Jan Magnussen recently got a chance to attack the 12.9 mile Nurburgring in a Corvette ZR1. Unfortunately, this was a day that the 'ring was open to the public and traffic slowed down the 638 hp Corvette several times. Still, this in-car video is a great way to see how a professional race car driver attacks one of the most difficult road courses in the world. Video after the jump! GM's former Road Race Group Manager Steve Wesoloski once said if you want to make a Corvette go faster, put Jan Magnussen in the driver's seat. They get a relatively deservedly bad rap, but they're actually very good cars with a downright hilarious amount of interior space. They're reliable, somewhat peppy and acceptable to drive. They don't live up to the "SAVING THE WORLD" bullshit that was created largely by consumers, but ignoring that, they're damned good cars that get great gas mileage in the city, and acceptable mileage on the highway. Also, Top Gear isn't exactly the best place to get information. It's pretty bipolar in it's reviewing nature. I adore it too, but you can't really get much out of it.
