I'm usually pretty good at identifying movies that customers at the video store I work at are looking for, but this one has stumped me. The guy said he had seen it on TV a couple of years ago and that it was definitely a foreign film. It's about a girl who gets kidnapped and sold into prostitution ('she even goes to Russia') and a whole bunch of poo poo happens to her. Eventually she manages to escape and gets picked up by these two dudes who lock her in a garbage container and force her to make horse porn.

It sounds like Lilya 4-ever, sort of, but I haven't seen that one. From what I can gather it was European and not that old; with the whole horse porn thing I thought for a second he might be trying to pull a fast one but he seemed pretty sure of himself.

Don't know the movie but that guy's got some balls to be going around asking strangers about movies to do with prostitutes and horse porn lol.

My good sir, I am in fact the 'pro'-est of them all
I saw this film within the last year when someone brought it in to watch during my old course although I think it's within the past 20-30 years in age.

The film was about a normal working guy, maybe some kind of builder or craftsman who has a wife and a young child. One night someone breaks into his house, he chases the man with a baseball bat outside his house in the suburbs and smacks the guy on the back of the head off his property, killing him. He gets arrested for manslaughter/murder I think and gets put in jail. There's a point where he's in a cell in county jail where a guy gets shanked and pounced on for looking the wrong way.

He gets put in a high security prison in the room with I think a white racist prisoner, heavily tattooed who has many kills to his name. The prison is quite high tech I think with automatic doors etc. Also a new officer joins the prison and disagrees with the handling of prisoners. I think a race war is brewing aswell but I'm not sure.

A friend suggested a movie for me to watch today. Being a forgetful bastard he gave me just enough details that it sounded pretty awesome, but not nearly enough that I could possibly find it. Bare in mind that we're in England, the only way he could have got to see this is on TV or :files: from the net. No Japanese horror film festivals here.

Heres the clues he gave me
-Japanese (This could mean Asian, but I give him the benefit of the doubt here)
-He described it as a Japanese version of [Rec]
-First 30 mins in Black and white
-May or may not have some chestbuster style monster

I wish I had more to go on. All I could find was a Japanese REC sequel and that could be it but I don't think its out yet and I can't really check cause I can't read Japanese.

This doesn't meet all your criteria, like the B+W for the first 30 minutes, but the "Japanese version of REC" makes it sound like it could possibly be Noroi (The Curse). The whole movie is up on Youtube if you want to check it out.

Hey baby I think we Havel lot in common
I have a movie that I would like to see again. I've seen it on cable, I think Showtime or IFC. I think the name of the movie was "K." but I am unable to find it on IMDB or anything. It was in English and filmed in black & white. It didn't star anybody that I had any knowledge of star status or anything.

It was comprised of 4 vignettes, I don't think they had anything to do with each other. One of the vignettes was about a guy who has to go out to the desert to this military penal colony on some kind of administrative matter or something, and this wacky guy in a commodore outfit is trying to convince him to approve of this elaborate torture machine. Another vignette is one that involves a man killing another man because the other man slept with his lover.

That's all I remember...it wasn't necessarily that great of a film, but it was gloomy, and that's kind of why I like it. Any help is appreciated.

I saw a trailer for this movie last year, but have forgotten the name and it's driving me crazy.

It was about a man in a hospital to appeared to be addicted to morphine, and was trying to get a little girl who was there to bring him some, and in return he would tell her this fantastic ongoing story. It was about these guys in a fantasy setting fighting some kind of evil...something. One guy was vaguely Arabic/Turkish looking and had bombs? There were a bunch of amazing looking special effects things, big, wide, sweeping shots of like, a stone wall with hundreds of stairs carved out of it. Anyone?

I posted this in this thread a year ago and didn't have any luck, but I want to try again because it still drives me crazy. I'm starting to wonder if it was a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits episode. Please help me, it's making me crazy.

navyjack posted:

This is a tough one. I saw a movie in an elementary school gym in about '83-84 when I was about 8 years old that scared the piss out of me. It was about some kind of dark future where the air had become poisonous and everyone had to wear these creepy-rear end gasmasks. All trees and animals were dead, but there was an old man who had somehow managed to secretly preserve a greenhouse/terrarium that held plants and animals and good air inside. At the end, his neighbors discover it and want in so badly they end up busting the glass and destroying the whole thing. I don't know if this was a movie or an educational short(leaning toward short) but I remember it was terrifying.

Goddamnit, right after I posted this, I tried a new variation on my Google-search and thought I had it, but it was a guy clearly talking about the same movie, without mentioning the title. He did say it was a 70's art-film with a Noah's Ark theme. Gah.

EDIT: Props to TG Goon Fuego Fish for showing some Google-Fu and coming up with "Ark" by Rolf Forsberg.

British film from a few years back, two girls go to some countryside hellhole for holiday (or possibly live there, can't remember) and have a great beautiful romance yadda yadda, things go wrong, then there's some kind of scene at a river where one tries to drown the other (or possibly herself?). Naturally, the "evil" half is a gorgeous tall brunette while the good girl is a rather more average looking blonde/ginger.

Thought of this cos an episode of Skins really reminded me of it... Effy is the evil one.

This one's kinda vague, but what I'm picturing is a movie, or possibly a TV show where a character slaps someone (not even that hard), and it goes into a slow-mo sequence like Rocky with a dramatic amount of spit flying out in the process.

This one have been eating away at me forever.

The main character was a man who worked as a ghost hunter, but in reality he was friends with the ghosts and they staged the hauntings to make a career. However there came a bad ghost that could kill the friendly ones, if I recall correctly it was a man who had died in a hospital? Or a sanitarium?
Also, there was a shotgun involved.

Been trying to remember the title of this movie for quite some time and I'm pretty sure you guys can help me out here.

Okay so the movie involved the following:

-A guy gets turned into a freak and is put in a sideshow

-One of the main characters head was a sock. Said sock character later gets shot and the sock is removed to reveal a hand.

-The ending had something to do with them on a talk show of sorts and didn't really go with the plot of the movie.

Its been ages since I've seen this movie and I remember seeing it on TV when I was younger. Can't remember much of this movie but hopefully you guys can help me out with this.

Super longshot here, but when I was very little I saw a movie on TV, and I only remember one scene. In this scene, there are some young guys and girls, probably college aged, in a cabin in the woods. Something or someone is out to get them (I think), so the guys decide to get out these guns they carry. One of their girlfriends gets mad at them for having them, and he says something like "Relax, it's only a game." The guns I seem to remember being small automatics like uzis and stuff. Would've been an early 90's movie, more than likely. Since the guy says the guns are a game, they might've been paintball guns or something.
