Extremely vague, but this is all I remember: It's by David Sanborn and has a almost funky guitar background with a prominent alto sax part (mostly high register stuff), very laid back feel to it. edit: Figured it out! Bigfoot, by Sanborn but I can't find a recording anywhere! two_beer_bishes fucked around with this message at 03:39 on Oct 25, 2009 |

I'm looking for the name of the song that Robin Williams plays while they're playing sports in Dead Poets Society. It's a classical sounding track that sounds stereotypically "academic" or "collegiate." thanks.

Here's an impossible challenge for someone looking to identify a tough song: I was a bartender at a Mexican restaurant ten years ago. The kitchen radio was always tuned to the local Latin radio station and they played this one particular song over and over. It had repetitive lyrics where the singer basically said the same word over and over again along with the melody of the song. I believe the word was "towa" or something like that. I asked who the group was at the time and one of the cooks said it was Tropical, but there may have been something lost in translation. I've searched on and off for top Mexican hits from the late 90s as well as this Tropical group but nothing has provided a solution yet. It's been ten years since I heard the song so I can't remember many more details. My only hope is that someone knows what I'm referring to off the top of their head as it may have been a huge hit for all I know.

This one might be really easy for someone, (but not for me) It's a slow sad song, sounds like it is probably being sung by Michael Stipe of R.E.M fame. The chorus "i think" goes. I am falling, I am falling, I am falling, I am. It possibly the falling word i'm getting wrong, which isn't helpful but that's how i remember it in my head. I heard the song on a trail for some show like grey's anatomy or something, but i'm sure it's been round a few years at least and usually used on that kind of thing. Thanks in advance

I heard an entire album by this band at a cafe today, but the only lyrics i could catch were possibly "time travel", which began one of the songs. The singer sounded vaguely like Morrissey, and the instruments included a ukelele, maaaaybe an accordian, and a lot of horns. It's difficult to describe the sound...kind of sweetly sad, but moderately upbeat at times. This was a pretty hip cafe so I'm guessing the band is somewhat well known.

Okay, I can hear this song just fine in my head, but given that I can't articulate a lyric, I'm not sure this is going to go anywhere. It's a fairly new (last few years) indie/electro-pop type song. The sort of thing you might hear by Kings of Leon, Phoenix, or TV on the Radio. I don't think its any of these bands though. Not Franz Ferdinand either; though I think its British. It opens right into a guitar hook. The vocals are male, and pretty repetative and stocatic. I THINK there's a part of the chorus that repeats... I'm falling I'm falling I'm falling I'm falling and drifting away but take this with a grain of salt. Its a pretty well-known tune, anyone who listens to this sort of music would recognize it immediately. I've heard it used on at least one commercial as well. I realize this is probably futile without more info

I've got a song that I've tried for a year now to find, because I don't know who sings it, what year it was made, or the genre or anything really, besides a slice of music in my head. I *think* it is from the late 80's-early 90's because the music in the song was very similar to the techno from other songs around the same time, like 'Nu Shooz - I Can't Wait or Technotronic - Pump up the Jam with the really 80's style electronic synths. The lyrics to the chorus goes something like "Money man, be my lover, *something* *something* I'm thinking of" I've tried a few websites that you can hum into them and they try to find it but none of them ever turn up anything. Of course I've tried looking for the lyrics and get nothing but a bunch of garbage. The song's genre might actually be some sort of R&B and Techno hybrid because the woman singing it sounds a lot like the woman from Technotronic, but they don't have the song.

i have a pop song in my head and it's killing me that i don't know the name it's based around a simple piano riff and it's sufficiently popular that many people might know it i think its fairly recent 99-2006 maybe, and the piano riff is literally like the only instrumentation that i have memory of at all, but it's pretty much only piano so hopefully someone can help ninja edit: i tried to record myself kinda humming the melody but i hum really poorly so this is the best i could do http://tindeck.com/listen/fhus ma104 fucked around with this message at 07:04 on Nov 3, 2009 |

Earlier this year there was a song that was played for a brief time on the radio. I wish I remembered more about the song, but all I recall is that the chorus is gleefully profane, it's sung by a woman and it might be about her boyfriend/a dude. It's hip-hop/R&B. Ideas? This is a longshot, but it's been bugging me for days.

I like that song, but that's not it. It's a little faster song. Honestly, I doubt it ever charted. I stay somewhat up to date on pop music, but I think this was like a single that totally bombed due to the massive amount of edits it no doubt incurred. I want to say the chorus had some unplayable uberprofanity in a line, repeated four times over.

This should be simple. I know the chorus of a smooth (neo?)-soul song contains the lyrics, "Things just ain't workin' out", which is sung in a sort of falsetto voice. Help me find it.
