I have an almost impossible song identification request, but figure it's worth a shot. I heard this on a burned mix CD someone was playing, all classic rock with a early 80s maybe 70s sound to it. The CD also had the song "Bad Motor Scooter" by Montrose on it, it was all kind of similar sounding music from the genre. I didn't really get any of the lyrics to the verses, but the chorus had a lot of stuff like: Oh baby Please baby Never let me go-o Repeated a few times. It was a pretty uptempo song very glam rock sounding, the singer was male, singing in that usual hair metal higher register. Any ideas?

Heard this song for the first time a few months ago on my local modern rock / indie radio station, heard it for a second time just yesterday. It's kind of poppy. I think the chorus started with "I wanna wake up..." maybe then "where you are?" or something. It's not Slide by Goo Goo Dolls, pretty sure it's a pretty new song. The singer sounded like a mix between the singer for Death Cab for Cutie and Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker. I've got nothing.

Shot in the dark, but is it Owl City-Fireflies perchance? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aI4JLa0hbUw Part of the chorus: "Rather stay awake when I'm asleep, Cause everything is never as it seems. (When I fall asleep.)" and sounds just like Death Cab, imo.

OK, I really got nothing on this one. It's a song with a kind of synth-strings sound. I swear I remember the guy from the Pet Shop Boys singing over the top of it, but I've listened to pretty much every one of their songs and didn't find it. It certainly isn't West End Girls, It's a Sin, Always on My Mind, Go West, or that one with the vampire video. In fact, it may not be Pet Shop Boys at all. The best I can give you is to use this lovely online keyboard, pick "strings" and play: 80 beats per minute D1 - 1 beat 1 beat rest B - 1 beat 1 beat rest G - 1 beat 1 beat rest D1 - 1 beat 1 beat rest B - 0.25 beat C1 - 0.25 beat B - 0.25 beat C1 - 0.25 beat B - 0.25 beat C1 - 0.25 beat B - 0.25 beat C1 - 0.25 beat B - 1 beat That's not the exact tune but it's as close as my lovely music skills will get you. Please help

My one isn't the Cure, I know both of those songs. Thanks anyway! I really think that this is quite an obscure track. It could even have been an instrumental.

Ivan Drago posted:I commend you for taking up the challenge, but this isn't the song. I can use it to discern some differences though. The one I'm looking for is not at all dancey and doesn't have any sort of club beat. It's more of the norteņo style (accordion, polka beat, etc). I think it's norteņo anyway. I'm not up to speed on my latin music styles. Maybe it was cumbia. In any event, it sounded very much in the style of this type of song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq9sQIhrKPQ (although the song I'm looking for doesn't necessarily sound anything like that rhythmically or melodically).

Rerally need help with this one! I hear it on the radio all the time, the modern-rock stations usually. I think its probably from the late 90's or early 00's. It has a pretty generic quasi-metal sound, the chorus goes something like 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN.............. HAAAAAAAAAS COOOOOOOOOOOME' At least, that's what it sounds like!

I recently took a hip hop dance class and the instructor used a song I've never heard before. I tried Googling the lyrics and nothing is coming up. Dancy, electronic, female vocals. Here are snippets of lyrics (may not be exact) Hands are cuffed... I'm stuck, you're stuck Mission impossible Mission impossible It's all we've got Baby what's the use... There's a song that I have been trying to find for a while. I remember hearing the song in the mid- to late-90s. It sounded like Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains, sung by a similar sounding guy (for all I know it could be one of them). The difficult part is that I only know four words of what I can assume is the chorus. The words are "when I wake up." (And it's not followed by "and put on my make-up.") I'm making up a verse here, but it sounds something like: When I wake up And raise my head up I sometimes wonder If I'm really there Not much information, I know, and I'm sorry. But you guys have found songs with less information than that.

I'm glad I was able to help someone with their song, so now I have one of my own. I guess I would describe it as alt-country, it had that old-school country sound but still sounded modern. I could be wrong, but it was definitely mid-tempo rock. The chorus said something like "Home is where I belong with you" and it was repeated a lot. In the middle of the song, there was a part with a man and woman talking, I think each voice came from a different channel. It was playing in a hip store, if that narrows it down (i.e. not Toby Keith).

I'm looking for a fairly recent indie-pop type song, maybe from this past summer. Its sung in the first person plural and I think it vaguely has suggestions of, I don't know, caveman conflicts or survival of the fittest or something. Lyrics maybe starting with "We were born to (something)" or "We were made to (something)." If it helps at all, I was thinking it was a Harlem Shakes song at first, but it definitely isn't.

I have been searching for this tune for more than a decade without any results, so I'll try my luck with "Help me identify a song." I heard it on an unmarked tape I took home by mistake from a grade-school dance. It's a version of the doo-wop song "Please Say You Want Me," and it follows the basic melody featured in this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwQB9LQh5E4 I've ruled out versions by The Schoolboys, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Donnie & the Del Chords (the link above), The Cleftones, and Kenny Vance & The Planotones. The elusive version features a bridge that none of the others contain. The lyrics for this part of the song are: "I pray every night that you'll love me like I love you So darling, give yourself to me, I promise I won't hurt you, so why won't you stay?" Thanks to anyone who devotes any effort to trying to solve this mystery of the ages.

I'm looking for a song that that stops midway through, and someone says something like "I like to play a game called sounds of the studio. Put your headphones on and get 'em cranked up." I could've sworn it was LCD Soundsystem, but listening to their albums on Amazon didn't turn up anything. I also tried searching for those lyrics, and got nothing.
