The only times Riffs aren't worth it is when the movie is boring. Bad is great because they get more vicious, but boring movies are the worst. Red Dawn was a great riff, but I stopped before it was over because the movie was so hideously tedious.

Which is why The Happening is one of the best Rifftrax. The movie just keeps getting worse and the riffs keep getting better.

35 minutes into Transformers 2 and I'm already in pain. I knew it would be bad, but it's almost the same level of bad as poo poo like Meet the Spartans and Disaster Movie. I feel so bad for Mike and Co. since they obviously had to watch it more than once.

But Twilight and The Room are my favorite riffs by far.

Her role in the movie was to make that upper-lip-exposing-teeth generic hot girl face. Which, with her, makes her look retarded.

So every time she's doing it, "have you seen my lip gloss?" "do you have any lip gloss?" "was that a robot?" "how do things work?" etc.

They were BRUTAL towards her.

I love how Bill loses it in the riff of TF1 over that. "Close your mouth! Do your lips even meet? What, are you straining for krill fish? Close your stupid overly tanned maw you EMPTY HEADED BINT!"

Does anyone else feel that they crank out rifftrax at too fast a rate to where they seem like they don't take the time to really zero in on clever riffs? I definitely still love what they are doing. I'm not knocking it, but I've yet to see a rifftrax that is a continuous flow of grade A jokes like MST3k episodes such as Time Chasers or Final Sacrifice.

Not at all. They've actually slowed the rate of releases in the last year. There was a time where they were almost knocking out one a week for a while. And putting out shorts in between movies slows down the releases even more.

Just watched the riff for Titanic. Generally their riffs of incredibly long movies are some of their weaker ones but this one ruled. The three hours would have been worth it for the introduction of the word "fiveshadowing" alone, but it managed to be hilarious beyond that as well, so kudos to them.

And the credits literally had me in tears

It really is. The first time I saw it was as a teenager back when I thought clear pictures of tits were impressive and even then I knew that movie sucked.

On the plus side I watched it on a very long flight and by the time it was over I was almost half way to London so...no I take it back, there is no plus side to that piece of crap

I finally managed to watch Titanic.

You must understand, I was just at dating age when this piece of poo poo was in theaters. I had to sit through it twice to touch some titty. I vowed on that titty that day that I would never again glare into the gaping maw of James Cameron's film version of goatse.

But the Rifftrax was totally awesome and I broke that vow.

And I love that Kevin said my exact thoughts at the end when the stupid bitch throws away the diamond: "yeah, loving starving people in Africa."

Watching Star Trek right now. It's okay so far, but I'm kinda depressed because I just realized Winona Ryder is now playing mom characters.

I am old.

and Kevin just made the joke "My god, I'm playing a full grown man's mother!" Awesome.

We've watched it twice now, it was so loving hilarious.

I also like the bit at the end, where elderly rose gets up on the rail of the ship and Kevin makes a *HHHHOOOOCCCCKKKK* sound.

I always feel a little funny using spoiler tags for rifftrax but that one is hilarious and it's much funnier when you don't see it coming.

I'm getting kind of annoyed by their recent policy of splitting longer Riffshorts in two. Then it takes a couple of weeks for them to release the second part. They should just start charging $2 for the longer ones and not bother with splitting them.

Although the "recap" at the start of Tommy Tucker was pretty funny.

Fans are discussing this on the Rifftrax forums. They say they do it for file size reasons.

The latest short, "Call It Free (pt 1)" is messed up because the short continues unriffed after the announcer reads the credits.

Yeah, I still haven't reached the end of Transformers 2. What's weirder is that I usually watch these before falling asleep, and that movie somehow makes giant exploding robots so boring that I conk out after two or three minutes.

Star Trek riff was really good.

daspope

I enjoyed the Star Trek riff. It was my first time seeing the movie, but due to how undeveloped the villain was I do not believe the riff subtracted from what my opinion would be of the movie otherwise. The movie was nice visually, and the riff had great jokes throughout it--in particular the mocking of Shatner in the beginning.

Part of me wants them to riff older obscure movies again that have such constant contradictions from the MST3K era even though I feel they are obligated to desecrate movies like Transformers 1 and 2 and Titanic. I did however enjoy The Happening and The Room that managed to be contemporary, but failed in so many aspects. I just enjoy movies more for the sheer What the gently caress? than this is terrible.

I'm the exact opposite. The pieces of poo poo low budget genre flicks are easy fodder. Making fun of The Happening and Transformers and Battlefield Earth is wonderful.

But the BEST Rifftrax are the ones for movies you love, i.e. New Star Trek, Jurassic Park, Casino Royale, Iron Man, Jaws, and Star Wars 4 and 5.

Speaking of which will they ever do Lord of the Rings 3 and Star Wars 6? I need to complete my sets. :colbert:

And more Star Trek movies wouldn't hurt either.

Also X-Men 3 (the one most deserving by far).

Not me. Just thinking about the physics of it makes me realize that would be like throwing it at a huge sponge.

Even if you drew it tight you'd have maybe a 1/10 chance of breaking it.
