New VOD: Maniac (1934)

Next feature: Drag Me to Hell (interestingly Kevin is absent from this one).

There's a problem with the Maniac one as you can't buy it right now, you can only do VOD.

I like it when they do these old films as they're very "MST3K"-esque. The riffs on the new films are funny, but it just doesn't have the same feel as the old show.

I sort of disagree, BUT it's hard to complain when they do both. A little something for everyone.

I don't know. After watching Michael Bay rape our childhood yet again, they probably need some time off before witnessing another dream raping.

It will be interesting to see them take on comedy horror. If only because riffing comedy is next to impossible.

I'm so mad they seemed to have taken down the sample from The Room. Whenever I was feeling gloomy I'd just go watch it. Never failed to make me laugh.

My roommate and I hunkered down to watch this a couple days ago, it was the most :wtf: movie I have ever seen. Everything everyone said was just ridiculous. It would be funny without the Rifftrax, although not funny in the way they intended.

I do give the dude some respect for financing, writing, directing, producing and staring in it.

Not much, but a little.

Lisa: She's a stupid bitch. She wants to control my life. I'm not going to put up with that. I'm going to do what I want to do, and that's it. What do you think I should do?

And my favorite:
Mark: How was work today?
Johnny: Oh pretty good. We got a new client... at the bank. We make a lot of money.
Mark: What client?
Johnny: I can not tell you, its confidential.
Mark: Oh come on. Why not?
Johnny: No I can't. Anyway, how is your sex life?

Considering his repeated appearances at its, what, monthly showings at some theaters and participation in that episode of Tim and Eric Awesome Show, I have to believe he's just a really, really skilled comedian.

If nothing else, he's at least a good sport.

I guess it's not just a dog thing!
I just watched Transformers 2 for the first time, with RiffTrax of course. The commentary was so brutal and vicious, just one :iceburn: after another. You could really feel the rage building as the movie progressed.

I really don't know if I could have sat through that movie in the theater...and I managed to watch Twilight without RiffTrax. That's right, I think Twilight is better than Transformers 2.

This is me for a significant part of the movie, without exaggeration:

:ughh: alternated with :bang:

I wonder how they'll riff it, since the movie is so tongue-in-cheek it does it itself.

"And now I bet she'll drop an anvil on his... oh."
"watch out for the EVIL handkerchief!"
"go ahead and pig out on that Haagen Da.. FOILED AGAIN!"

Maybe they could make a rifftrax of just saying ridiculous poo poo and having every crazy thing they say actually happen in the film. Since that's more or less what happens in the film, and why it's so great.

A heads-up to Netflixers: the Rifftrax is for the theatrical release and Netflix only has the unrated version.

However, the unrated version is about 9 seconds shorter than the theatrical version. Here's a site that shows the differences. I'll tag the site as :nws: for gore.

The disc (Drag Me To Hell) should have both versions of the movie on it.

From these screens, I'm assuming the entire movie is things going into or out of people's mouths.

Also Manic is a movie that quite handily lives up to it's title.
