Look for a thread in GBS called "Remember that thread . . . Long lost SA stuff". I know it was in the last few pages there, someone had the same question answered.

I've been trying to refind the website of this one artist. He did some really weird and creepy paintings. Most of them were rather surreal and often of monsters. He had his self bio on his page and wrote about how he did most of these paintings while on a variety of drugs. One of the more memorable parts was how many of his paintings were lost when his apartment/house went up in flames after some oils/varnishes caught fire. I know it's somewhat vague, but I've been trying to find his website for years.

There was a video I saw a few years ago. A nerdy kid walks into a classroom while his friend records it. He shouts "SCROLL OF INVISIBILITY" or some other similar videogame/roleplaying/spell poo poo then sort of slowly crouch-walks around the classroom, zig-zagging through the desks. He's completely silent and ignoring all the wtf faces around him. Finally he yells some other spell-sounding poo poo at someone and leaves the room. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I'm looking for a SA thread which a few months old, where some model posted his pics (basically just asking for attention), and there was a mod challenge where either he had to get a professional photo shoot of himself doing something very awkward done, or he'd get banned. The search only returns the last couple moderator challenges, so I've been having trouble finding it...anyone have the link handy?

Maybe about 10 years ago, there was an awesome song I found on mp3.com or somesuch place. It was He-Man rap that sounded kinda homemade; I only remember one snippet of the lyrics: "... and crusin' with Stratos and mackin' on Teela ..." I wish I still had it, but that was three hard drives ago.

Does anyone remember a couple of videos of a kid called Ryan Parry (Perry?) singing songs he'd written? They were really poo poo and rather hilarious. One in particular was called "Lonely Song" and i even remember the first line of it, but it hasn't helped me track it down: "here i am alone, sitting by the lake, watching the sunrise, as i awake." Poetry. He had a bit of a following and some metal band covered one of his songs and replaced his original lovely solo with some shredding which was also quite funny. If anyone has links i'd be a happy little boy.

Does anyone remember the awful videos made for a certain film festival the OP had access to? They were made by Koreans speaking highly accented English, and used a lot of bad clip-art (maybe cutting edge in 1995, but in anything other than that year, nothing short of abysmal). One of them was a hamfisted political allegory with a toy soldier on wheels shouting "Yee-haw!" and a bereaved mother (a GIS'ed image of a frowning woman with only the mouth moving) giving a resounding speech on war ethics. Probably the most bewildering 5 minutes of my life. Please let me re-live this.

Does anyone know where I can find Zack Parson's old Geist website? I tried Google, web archives/graveyards and no luck. I was disappointed when he abandoned it. I seem to remember there being a side-bar with a progress on some little girl's dead cat and her speculating if it would get better as the photo kept getting photoshop'd into decrepitude. I don't know if it got archived on SA or elpintogrande nuked it or what but my google-fu is giving me nada. It's how I found SA (that or Miguel/Seanbaby's fatchicksinpartyhats linking to Cliff Yablonski, I forget) and every time I read a front page article with his byline on it I get nostalgic. edit: SAclopedia has a link to web archive but says the creator blocked it. And it was a 'shop of a dead girl who suicided after her cat died (Geist Gurl). But still, if anyone knows anything about this I'd appreciate it. syscall girl fucked around with this message at 22:49 on Nov 25, 2009 |

Two things that I am trying to find tonight without much luck 1. The first is this video of a bunch of gasoline barrels being shot at with machine guns at a firing range somewhere at night. It is really insane to watch because it's a mixture of tracers and fireballs that is just loving chaotic to watch. 2. The second is a series of videos by this guy who, I guess, is trying to make a cooking show on YouTube. He comes off hilariously incompetent at it as he does things like cook a hot dog right on the stove burner and dousing a pot fire (after taking 30 seconds to react) by taking it outside and dumping snow on it. His condo or apartment was also a complete mess with the floor and counters literally completely covered in stuff.

I saw a youtube video ages ago which I've not been able to find since. It was a cat who, whenever it was held near a tap/any type of running water, it started to doggy paddle (or kitty paddle ) in its owners arms. As far as I can remember, it never actually went in the water. I've tried searching for lots of variations of cat + swimming, paddling etc but I can't seem to find it. If anyone knows the one I'm talking about it'd be much appreciated...I love me some cute cat videos

I saw this video awhile ago, it was somewhat a Math Cartoon, the kid would always yell phrases like 'Mathematical!' The cartoon eventually led to the boy talking to Abe Lincoln on the moon. I've been looking for this one but yield no results. Does anyone remember this cartoon? I first saw it on SA I believe.

There was a video doing the rounds a while back which was basically a really weird music video about numbers. It may or may not have been a rap. It featured a bunch of kids and ended with a couple of wizards zapping them with a magic stick until they found a way to turn the magic back on the wizards. It was made to look like an educational video but I think it originated from some old comedy show. I hope I didn't dream this... edit nevermind, I remembered it was about pi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP19xs9K77Y oh no computer fucked around with this message at 21:17 on Dec 3, 2009 |

Okay, this is a weird one, but a few years ago someone posted a news article basically showing the first-ever video of a porcupine's erect penis. Guy in lab coat holding porcupine, and suddenly there's this horrifying looking animal dong with teeth waving around. Through some very odd thread of conversation I ended up explaining this video to some friends last night, and now I feel the need to dig up the real video to prove I haven't lost my mind. I'm pretty sure the animal in question was a porcupine. Does anyone remember this?

Also a bit weird [edit: on second thought, post above is definitely weirder]: Someone edited Star Trek clips (either original or Next Generation) to make it look like the captain and his crew were watching porn on the screen. Different crew members reacted differently; some were happy, some shocked, some amazed, some had knowing moments of eye contact. The porn sounds were overlaid. It was absolutely awesome. As I recall, there was an original version, and a re-done version that was made as a tribute in higher quality. Anyone remember this? uberknarf fucked around with this message at 02:00 on Dec 7, 2009 |
