In Canada you can import pretty much anything on wheels as long as it's more than 15 years old. That makes it exempt from the import rules. That being said, that's just to import it, not register it in your province (good luck with that).Rhyno posted:As I failed to post a screencap before, here is the "AWESOME TUNER PRELUDE" So "custom flames" , underbody neons and a blue interior mean "tuning" now... do you get all these store-bought trophies with the car too? The only reason that car can drive on the streets is because Florida is so lax with regging and inspections.

I've actually seen this thing running around town. The 'plug' in the back of the cabin looks terrible, and the whole conversion kit looks like it was made out of cheap rear end fiberglass. http://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/1516760296.html quote:V8 5.7, 6speed, AC, PW ,PDL, CC, TW, Z51 Package,Power Seats, Leather. Only excuse I can think of is because you simply can't buy a HSV ute in the US, and this is pretty much as close as you can get to one - big GM V8? Check. IRS? Check. Hell, it actually has a full frame, too.

Everybody posted:15 years That explains why I've never run afoul of it yet - My experience with registering vehicles comes from vintage & classics. But I do know a guy here in Vancouver that is selling chinese reproductions of 40's era Harleys. I think he gets around it by doing the final assembly here, and calling it a U-built. (Which means it gets a brand-new VIN.) He'd tried it before as a dealer, but they wanted him to send two models to be crash-tested before they'd even look at the rest of the paperwork.

Why would you do such a thing? This is a vehicle which says "I hate everything that is good and all beauty in this world and I will eradicate it one item at a time." Is this a crash repair with the repairer unable to source the Saab parts? That's the only possible reason I can think of for this besides stupidity. I've left out about 2/3 of the pics...it's the exterior that's...of interest, and a lot are redundant. http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/1511407829.html

Considering the only Subaru parts are the front end and airbag cover, I'm gonna say it's a crash repair. The worst part is that it was probably rebuilt like that on purpose by the owner. Maybe they bought it wrecked and decided to be different.

From Kijiji(Canadian only I think); "1988 Honda Civic CRX Si-1000$ i have a crx si from the U.S. drove it up here and the motor started acting up cylinders arent firing anymore..still runs and drives though need it gone by this weekend..it is sitting in my girlfriends driveway.i will take 1000 for it all..i have invested alot into the motor and alot into the car but with a kid on the way i need a 4 door..never been in an accident and the body is in good condition besides the rocker panel rust..underneath the car is VERY clean." Great deal! Notice how a lot of the sellers have children on the way? And That Saabaru has Polish Headlights, interesting.
