Randy lives his gimmick and that's why I like him

Question, watching old Nitros they used to do instant replays of impressive moves in slow-motion, I'm wondering if WWE has ever done this, cause I think slow motion looks better?

First thing that springs to mind (although I'm not sure whether WWE or the "giffer" slowed it down)

Having said that, it is Paul London so it's possible he just bent the law of physics

WWE does slow motion replays when people get hit in the head for real.

What's the reason for the stripped-down set for events at Madison Square Garden? Will anything more elaborate just not fit, or is it a nod to history or something?

it'd probably fit at the expense of the other half of the arena being blinded by the titantron

Orton sometimes bores me by taking liberties with his intense staring but he's credible as super main-event caliber and young as all hell. getting randy orton at this age is like investing in microsoft back in the 80s.

In that you will have stock in an overrated product that isn't nearly as good as its popularity should demand and is likelier than not to shut itself down, yes.

If Orton is as volatile as he's been in WWE, can you imagine what he would do under the "supervision" of TNA?

They've done it before: remember, the Raw in 1997 where Vince McMahon ate his first stunner was at the Garden and they used the full set. The thing is, Garden is just one bowl, and it does take up a good chunk of seats even in an arena that's larger than the garden.

Plus, it's a nice nod to history and, frankly, I'd rather have a smaller set and a bigger crowd. I just kinda wish that they'd use that "camera from the back before they come through the curtain" angle like they used to use at the Garden.

Speaking of poo poo that went on for way too long, how the hell is Hornswaggle over? I mean, I understand that it's a lot of kids, but aren't there so many more people that hate it?

Now that he's in main events...I just don't loving know anymore.

It's quite clear that he is highly beloved as a character by a significantly large portion of the crowds. Personally I sometimes enjoy his antics but more often than not am irritated by him, and I detest his "wild animal laugh", but I can fully understand why WWE keeps using him, because the kids love him and those that dislike or hate the character obviously aren't significant enough to make a difference.

When he's not booked in that sappy, ultra-kiddy fashion, I will admit with no shame that I mark out for Hornswoggle.

Vince McMahon strapping him into a car seat and growling "he's an INFANT!" still strikes me as one of the funniest things ever for some reason.

Hmm - and I suppose my username gives away my opinion that midgets will always have a place in wrestling. :shobon:

I don't find Hornswoggle that bad, but he doesn't need to main invent. He can be good for comic relief. I think the comic relief is what makes him loved, but that being said, putting him in serious segments or the main event is a little much.

Wrestlemania XX used a full set as well, and set up a little current-combatants video wall in the "normal" entrance.

Has the Undertaker EVER done any shoot interviews, Q & A's, whatever since joining the WWE? Even any video of him acting out of character besides thanking Flair on the Raw after WM XXV?

There are plenty of second-hand accounts and whatnot but it'd be interesting to get it straight from the source.

About the time he came back as "Biker-taker" WWE put out a magazine that had an in-depth interview with him. Some of the highlights that I can remember:

He said Vince is a big western movie fan and had had the idea to do an "Undertaker" style character for years, but was waiting until he could find the right wrestler to give it to.

Before he was given the character, he was told he was going to debut at the Survivor Series; Taker was afraid that he was going to have to shave is head and be the "Egg-Man" (remember, this was the same year the Gooblety Gooker debuted)

He talked about wrestling in WCCW, and how in one of his first matches, he wrestled Bruiser Brody, and he decided he wasn't going to let this old-timer tell him what to do in the match. And said Brody put a stop to that, quick. But despite the disrespect he had shown Brody, when Fritz Von Erich was cutting wrestlers, Brody told Fritz to keep the big kid around, because he could be something.

He credits Paul Bearer with keeping him from getting in trouble.

There were also photos of him playing basketball on a driveway as a youngster, and photos from his wedding to Sara.

Yeah I think that was the one where he rips the internet community a bit ("they think they know but we only let them know as much as we want them to") and says spotfest-wrestlers "utilize poor resource management".

There was also a dvd set from around 2001 where he talks out of character about some stuff ("I was like yeah Vince Inferno Match that sounds like a great idea when thinking to myself WTF")
