I was getting sick of pulling my DEeeelay off my larger board for smaller applications and then having to re-fiddle with the knobs, so i just bought the next best thing... Lets see how this guy behaves, but from what Ive heard already, Im gonna like this. Its going on my baby board with my sparkle drive.

My fiance got me this for xmas: So much fun. And I just bought myself this (Ibanez S470DXQ): I'm a little concerned about the fit and finish and I am a bit intimidated by the ZP trem. Anyone have any tips on how to set this thing up?

I've tried the NanoKeys and the Akai equivalent and I think my fingers are just too large and big-boned for the Akai. I can play chords with the NK's large pads, but I need to be careful to even try moderately fast single-key leads with the Akai. Try before you buy. Is the included NanoKeys software worth the price over a half-price used one without it? I plan to use it as a hardware controller through my laptop mostly, for megaminimal rigs where I can only bring a sound module or sampler along with the laptop.

The Korg nano software is the same from all the nano controllers. A cute little Novation Nova, smaller and lighter than I expected, feels and looks great, sounds excellent (oh boy, those leads!), great effects system and interesting system as a whole - it's a microcomputer and not anything built specifically to be a synthesizer. New voices were added by a firmware update, not an addon card or anything. Cool. And it has an arpeggiator. Not that I need one with a very intelligent Kurzweil sequencer at hand. Time to read up on that 40 band vocoder and get cracking. e: This vocoder's got potential, so many ways to sing you can eat my rear end and balls with it. Effects are good, I see myself recording drum tracks through it, but what's stuck half-way inside the input1 port? fuctifino posted:The Korg nano software is the same from all the nano controllers. Only heard pro-reviews mention it as a thing by the side, curious about how good it is in practice by people I trust (ie goons). Yeah, I hit the keys a bit, but my fingers are generally fairly small (size small gloves :\), so I have been using it just fine. Definitely helps me focus on accuracy, too.

I told myself that I wasn't going to buy any new guitars until the band was playing out consistently... but then this came along and I couldn't pass it up. Limited Edition goldtop Fender Telecaster with Dimarzio humbuckers (n-Air Norton, b-Tone Zone), with a coil split on the tone knob. It's thinner and lighter than a standard Tele, plus it's got a smooth heel contour, a gorgeous headstock, and binding on the body and neck. Sounds heavenly through the Hot Rod Deville with a TS9.

My Custom22 stoptail needed a mate. Click here for the full 1536x2048 image. Walked into a local shop (the same one I snagged my 22 from a few months ago) to see if a yet-to-be-molested JCM800 head was still hanging out and saw this beauty on the wall flashing me a come-hither look. Slut. Ordered a set of Seymour Duncan P90's (P100 actually I think) to go in her.

From what I've been able to find through Google, it's made in Korea in 2004, and the body color is Aztek Gold. With both humbuckers on, it's got a nice bite to it. Switching to the single coils drops the output considerably, but it's nice to have another voicing. It kind of looks a bit Les Paulish, but the thin body kills a bit of that heavy tone that you expect to get from a 10 pound Gibson. an AOL chatroom fucked around with this message at 04:56 on Feb 3, 2010 |

..drat you, e-commerce and gear lust! I just ordered an Electro-Harmonix XO Big Muff Pi (with Tone Wicker!) and Nano Power Booster (this should sweeten up my 5W tube practice amp!) from Musician's Friend. And a set of Sennheiser HD280s (I always wanted a set of these!). And the Phonic Firefly 202 interface that was today's stupid deal (hey, now I don't have to drag my ProFire 2626 to a live show!). And a bunch of guitar strings (hey, since I'm already ordering, I should stock up!). This is why I'm always broke - I don't even have access to my friggin' studio and electric guitars right now.

I found out my favorite local music store isn't going to be a Mesa/Boogie dealer after all, and as a reaction of indeterminate emotion, I bought a Modtone Power Plant and an MXR/CAE Boost pedal. I'm awaiting on a bunch of enclosures so I can build various pedals, and once everything is together and assembled, I'm going to order a custom built pedalboard. Looking at builders right now, ugh...

The trem is pretty straightforward. The lone allen keyhole on the back is for adjusting the spring tension. The two black holes at the either side of the bridge at the front (closest side to the neck) adjust bridge height with an allen key. Opposite the trem bar hole is a key for adjusting the intonation and it screws in behind the fine tuners (I think, it's been a while since I've set mine up. You lock/unlock the strings in by using an allen key behind the saddles. To set them up, there isn't much more than unlocking the nut and loving around with them until you get a height you like, then adjusting the intonation to get it set up nicely. I've had the bridge out a couple times and they are pretty hard to screw up. A lot of fun to use You'll just want to make sure the bridge is flush with the body which is done just by adjusting the spring tension and bridge height until you get it in a position that feels nice for you. I'd recommend setting aside an afternoon or evening and just playing with the bridge to get a good feel for how to adjust everything

I bought a horrible electric guitar today, which is perfect as a body for my new DIY Eigenharp 'Alpha'. I've used industrial strength sticky-backed velcro to stick everything onto the guitar. The Eigenharp Pico is on the neck... with a Korg nano pad underneath, and a Korg non kontrol just to the side of it. I plan to put at least one Korg nano keyboard on there too. Just the other side of the bridge (are they called bridges in guitars?) is a mini mouse trackball. <3

Yeah we guitarists call that a bridge too. That thing is pretty cool. What kind of music are you making or do you aspire to make with it? What will you being doing with the trackball?

You look kind of cramped. Personally I would advice in investing in some piece of poo poo bass. A full scale would be longer on the neck which might give you more room to expand for future hardware. You could also pull out the knobs, pots, pickups, and switch for even more room.

Yeah, I did eye up basses originally, but £££ issues meant I opted for this piece of crap electric. Its actually not that cramped though... The aim is to design something where my hands rarely have to move. All I have to do to the current model is find a way to raise it (i.e. by using a cello spike) so that I can get it to a more comfortable playing position... Either that or find a smaller stool.
