If you need to, jump closer to the end, where it turns into more of a funk song.

Hmm I have to figure out how to find this song, short of making a last.fm account and listening to Parliament radio.

I'm trying to figure out what song is playing in the background as he talks. Usually the station does a good job of adding playlists, but in this case they didn't. I thought maybe Massive Attack? I can't track it down for the life of me.

If it's not Massive Attack, maybe try FC Kahuna? It reminds me of the song from the beginning of Layer Cake, "Hayling". I don't think that's the exact one, but look for similar tracks.

For the Infiniverse classical music clip, try Musipedia if you have a microphone. I don't have mine to hand at the moment.

Thank goodness this thread exists. For context, I was at Forever 21 (cheap women's clothing store -- plays mostly dance, pop and pop-rock songs that've come out recently) and heard this really unusually syncopated dance-ish beat. The female vocals sounded like a combination of Michael Jackson, Santogold, and Tegan & Sara. The lyrics were hard to hear -- the singer kind of muddled the words. I think I heard something like "the perfect games you played" and the repeated chorus-y line was something like "runned around" or "wonder 'round". Please help me identify this song! You're my last hope, goons. :ohdear:

This has been driving me so drat crazy, that if you can figure out this song, I will think of a cool way to reward you!

I'm looking for a song based on a video. It's from a fairly recent release (I saw it on TV but didn't get the band or song) and the video consists of a load of people being pagan in a rocky landscape, with some knights, some person dramatically hitting a drum on top of a hill and then at the end of the video it goes all psychedelic and their faces fly off. You'd think the description would be googleable but nooo, this is driving me absolutely mad. I've spent the last few hours going through music channel websites and music label youtube channels and such and still can't find it.

I'm not even sure if I like the song, my brain just itches so much.

The "perfect games you played" line sounded familiar so I started going through songs I've heard recently, but couldn't find it.

I then started looking for "games we played" and "games I played" and "game you played" and so on. Nothing stood out as something I have heard before, but I did find this, which has an odd female voice and has some lyrics that could be misheard as the ones you said.

it's a LONG shot, but I figured I'd post it.

Shirley, these things happen in video games. We can't get hung up on real-world morality.
I heard this song on the radio the other day, but I have no idea what the song's title is, or what band performed it. Part of the chorus was like "The jams were tight/ The kids could play/ The music didn't suck/ The bands weren't gay"

The first thing that sprang to mind was 'Round Round' by Sugababes but that's pretty old now, not sure if it would fit on a recent playlist.

Somewhere between shoegaze, ambient and trip-hop I think. Try Bowery Electric: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5kRrLmGJho

There's a George Gershwin song I'm trying to find, but I can't for the life of me remember how it began. I had it all clear in my head until last night, too. :argh:
All I remember is that it was incredibly melancholy (at least to begin with), and started off with quite a long trumpet solo. It wasn't anything like his really fluffy dancing stuff, and instead almost made me weep.

Quoting this in a last-ditch attempt. I spoke to the venue today, and while they didn't have an exact list of the songs performed it might just be that this song was from the George Gershwin songbook. I'll start checking out tracks from that now, but it might take me a while, so if anyone has even the vaguest idea of which one it might be, I'd be very greatful. :)

Edit: God help me I am obsessed with finding out what this is!

I even re-created a very, err, primitive, short clip of what I think the song sounded like with Garage Band and uploaded it here. I can't quite capture how weird/cool the beat was, unfortunately:

Please take a listen, and if it sounds at all familiar, please let me know!

Looking for a trance song that included sampling of this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azMG60VS4c0 (first 20 seconds) I remember listening to it a long time ago (probably 2000-2003) The one im looking for is definitely more trance-ish and no lyrics. probably by a popular dj during those years. Any suggestions?

This might be a bit tough. This song was pretty popular on Power 106 in Southern California at one point in the mid to late 90s but I don't think any other station ever played it. Artist is Artie The One Man Party but it is not Esa Nena. The song is mainly a trumpet solo, and the only words I can remember are a woman saying "a ring ding ding ding, a ring ding ding" over and over.
