Ok, my request is identifying a rap song from the 90's.

The song started (something)like this :

Seven in the morning kicking down my mama's door, I ask what is this motherfucking drama for [some more lyrics]....... then they put the glock to my chest

chorus : they calling me a criminal [or something similar]

I was frustrated I cant do no more push ups

Sounds familiar?

sorry for such an obvious one, but making a quick cd for a road trip and looking for the hit dance song ( last 2 years maybe? ) in which the video involves a bunch of marching band chicks (mostly brass section). Super long shot... I am looking for a rock/alternative/something song that was getting a decent amount of play on MTV Europe in 1997-98. I don't know any of the words although I think the song name or words in it said "northern star" or "guiding star" or something. The video was in a desert or a market or something, I just remember it being very sunny. Male vocals and I think he had curly hair in the video.

The chorus wasn't really words, it was him going "eh oh eh oh eh oh eh aaaaah"....

:eng99: sorry

A man's man, wears a lot of denim, tells long stories and has oatmeal saved from this morning.

Okay, this probably is going to be kind of difficult: It's a rap, talking about a kid who gets in a mess and at some point during the story, thinks he shot someone and freaks out? As it turns out he didn't end up shooting the guy, and ends with some kind of moral to the story (I think). Not very helpful, I know, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

vvv Thanks, but I figured it out: Children's Story by Slick Rick.

This might be way off base, but you're not talking about "Stan" by Eminem, are you?

Also a long shot here, but I once heard a song in a cafe that I really enjoyed but (regretfully) didn't ask the waiter what it was.

All I can remember about it was that it was pretty chilled out, with a woman half singing/half talking in a thick french accent about "all the existentialists sitting in the cafes" or something.

I was visiting St John in the US Virgin Islands and I heard this song on the radio. It's a reggae song in which I specifically remember hearing the Virgin Islands mentioned, but the chorus goes "Marijuana be the one, that I reside with, forever..."

I don't know what the song is, or the music video. All I know is the song was kind of sexual sounding, and the video was of 3D hammers banging nails into wood. I know it's a long shot, but can anyone help me out?

If these guys do their job I might have my eyes back in as soon as Monday.
I was completely munted the other night and heard a dance song that goes either 'secrataaaary, secrataaary' OR 'temporaaaaary, temporaaaaary'. I've heard a few DJs play it but have no idea what song it is.

Figured it out. It's a remix of Paul McCartney. Jesus christ.

The pursuit of excellence.
I'm trying to find the song with these lyrics:

Well the devil walks tonight
Under a jealous sky
Its such a shame
But its always been the same

Suggestions thusfar have been Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Jay Hawkins with minimal luck. I doubt its Tom Waits as he doesn't allow his music to be used in commercials (though he was in Wristcutters: A Love Story)

It played going to a break on "The First 48" and as such I don't have a cap of it.

Currently there is a thread of people looking at it on the A&E site with no luck: http://community.aetv.com/service/displayDiscussionThreads.kickAction?as=119137&w=265891&d=507166&d-1169404-p=1

EDIT:
I feel like it should be Jay Hawkins, but who knows. There are no good lyrics sites with all his stuff.

Can someone tell me the name of this popular song from 50s/60s? Sounds like it's by The Chordettes or similar female group

I believe the lyrics are "he's _ _ _ good to me" (good for me?)

all the blank words are one syllable

Thanks but it's not that unfortunately, the one I'm after is more upbeat

I think it may have been used in the Simpsons in one of the later seasons

come to think of it, the three blanks indicate there are three syllables - not necessarily three words

I'm trying to find a version of Prince's "Kiss" that was either a mashup with (I'm pretty sure) either "Cantaloupe Island" or "Watermelon Man" by Herbie Hancock, or else a cover of "Kiss" with the groove from Cantaloupe/Watermelon Man playing underneath. I heard it on the radio between 2004 or 2006, and it was described as "new" at the time.

Not so much a song as a band, they're called Bow-something and their most recent album had the word 'white' in the title. They originally emerged in the 80s as a sort of goth/punk band in the Camden scene. Their most recent album is their most mainstream and slightly Bowie-esque at times.

I'm not much of a contributer, not one at all really, but I do lurk.

Anyway, it's not so much of a song but it's a video (it's a music video) of a girls rear end, and all she does is walk away taking off more layers off her fantastic rump as the song goes on. Only at the end to be left with very skimpy undershorts that get doused in water.

I wanted to say the name was Kiss Kiss Kiss or Love Love Love, but no searches anywhere yield any result.

Any help would be great.

Or you can just ignore this post.

Sometime in the mid to late nineties there was an electronic song that had a kind of tribal feel to it.

It had a chorus that went "Aaayy eeeee yiiii-eeee-iiiii-aiiiiaiiii"

And I think the video for it had a bunch of rain forest footage and there might have been some pygmy people in it. gently caress if I know.

I thought it was Little Forest but apparently that's not it.

Any ideas?
