Triple H tore his quad right before the Invasion storyline, effectively ending the Two Man Power Trip and beginning the Invasion. Do you feel Triple H's presence during Invasion would have affected, either positively or negatively, the way the storyline progressed? With whom would he have feuded with? Would Austin's defection have made a bigger impact given the Two Man Power Trip history? Certainly some things, like the poor reception and delivery of a Buff Bagwell/Booker T main event and the toxic nature of the WCW brand, can not be excused, but one must consider, given Triple H's respect for the business and influence with Vince, if things may have executed themselves better. Thoughts? Similarly, Chris Benoit, perhaps one of the most beloved wrestlers to come out of WCW, missed the Invasion due to neck surgery. Would his presence as a part of the Alliance solidified their status as a legitimate threat? OppositeAstronomer fucked around with this message at 05:59 on Apr 3, 2010 |

IIRC, he was going to be the centerpiece of the new, relaunched WCW.

How do wrestlers work out on the road? Do they have a "gym truck" or do they just hit up the local gym for a day or two?

In fact, didn't this turn out to be a build to that NWA "Invasion" with him and Jarrett? Vince's attitudes have changed since then, so he probably wouldn't allow it now but I think back then Vince was eating it up.

To defend Cornette, he always says he wants to see the matches with the psychology of the 80s with wrestles born in the 80s. He's very against any promotion featuring older talent. And while he does have a place in his heart for the past, he's a big supporter for new ideas and evolving wrestling. Just not the none wrestling poo poo that WWE likes to shove down fans throats. Beer_Suitcase posted:Can you suggest some good/funny shoot interviews? There are plenty online but I just dunno where to start. Watch any shoot with Jim Cornette, he's like a wrestling Rain Man, he tells good stories and some people hate the poo poo he says, but it's entertaining as all hell. There's one in particular called Guest Booker with Jim Cornette where they go over the invasion angle that was really interesting. Kevin Kelly did a shoot with someone that was pretty good too, talked a lot about the goings on behind the scenes at WWF during the attitude era. The only information I have on where it came from is a "dojwrestling.com" watermnark on it, but a google search turned up nothing. The Dudley's RFvideo* shoot is real good too, a lot about ECW and their WWF run, Devon mostly sits there and agrees with Bubba the whole time, but it's a lot better than it sounds, Bubba Ray is a drat good communicator. Shawn Michaels RFvideo* shoot is pretty good, nothing too personal, just a rundown of his entire career. He holds a lot back, but it's still interesting. Mean Gene Okerlund's RFvideo* shoot is real good too, check that out. Kurt Angle's RFvideo* shoot is alright. RFvideo* also does some "best of" videos, but the only one I've seen I "Got Heat" from 2008 and it's excerpts of different interviews (Cornette, Nasty Boys, Piper Vader, Sid, Newjack, etc...) about confrontations, horrible stories etc... *In no way am I endorsing the giving of money to the pedo that runs (ran?) rfvideo

So I only started tuning back into wrestling in 2009 and as a result I missed the glorious rise of the Viper. What were Orton's best matches prior to 2009 that you would consider essential for a fan? Also,if anyone could tell me what the good legend killer matches were that would be appreciated, from the sounds of it some were considered very average. Matches with excessive amounts of violence are encouraged. One more question, was Orton every a face and not just a well liked heel? Secrets of the Ring with Raven is a great five-volume look at the business, though you may not care as much since you wrestled. Still entertaining though. Punk/Cabana is good but Punk/Joe is way better.
