Not an Anthem posted:I'm selling a bunch of really lovely tshirts for .99 cents each plus shipping "There's some rule about how you have to own at least one badly fuzzed out taped copy of a real discharge lp and one discharge tshirt and pretty much nothing else in order to be punk. Seriously, you can't wear pants or boxers and you can't own a home or a car or anything else. You have to wander around the city screaming "WHY" and "AND CHILDREN? AND CHILDREN!" until you eventually die alone in an alley. Punk." I bid on it the Discharge shirt because of this.

Track 9 is indeed rad Like I said, this is a for real, full album leak

So gerfatty/other Steinways/Ergs/Rivethead-and-related-bands fans, the new House Boat EP is up for preorder at Traffic Street for four bucks, and when you preorder, Sam will send you the download code via email as soon as he can so that you don't have to wait till the vinyl comes out Or just send him four bucks and ask for the mp3s, that's what he did for me

This was probably one of the most surprising shows that I've been to. I just expected to like Lemuria and The Queers, but I ended up loving everyone but Andrew Jackson Jihad. Also I just found out Lemuria is going on tour again, I haven't seen them since that show. And I need to remember to pick up the new BTMI record here sometime... Also, I really wish Martyr AD would do a reunion show or something, I've been listening to them way too much lately. edit: Volvagia posted:Getting back into punk after a long break, what current stuff would you guys recommend for someone who owns everything Dillinger Four and Kid Dynamite ever released? New Sick of it All album up for streaming (http://www.myspace.com/sickofitallny). It seems to be more a little more varied than Death To Tyrants from the little that I've listened to. Regardless, I'm a huge fan of anything they release.

I was supposed to see Fang Island in CT a week ago but I bailed on the show for no good reason, then I couldn't hit up the Middle East show (I live in Boston) either because I had to play a lovely gig with my band. I regret this because they're probably not gonna be so cheap to see on the next time around. How was it?

It loving owned. I had to leave like one song into Red Sparowes set to catch the T though. Fang Island are pretty much my favorite band right now. The only other music I've ever heard that has made me want so dance to bad is probably Dan Deacon. Inspector_666 fucked around with this message at 08:26 on Apr 16, 2010 |

I knew I should have been digging around for shows to go to...pissed I missed Fang Island and Red Sparowes in CT. AJJ is an awesome band, but I can see how a lot of people just don't like them. The warbling is weird as hell. Can't Maintain is much more accessible, but not necessarily better. Check that out and let it sink in before digging into the old catalog.

I think I agree that Candy Cigs is their best, but I started out with their Ghost Mice split and PTEP album. PTEP has got to be their weirdest album and although I know that Can't Maintain is really good it's the bottom of the full lengths to me. When you can recommend their "worst" as a great record to get into then you're talking about a drat good band.

Yeah I'll let you know. I'm working on a list that's separating the records I'm keeping and selling. I finally got back to work on going through the LPs so hopefully if my schoolwork keeps down (and I can pull myself away from Persona 4) I can get through it quickly.
