Yup, same reason there's 14, 15, 16, 17, 1819 Kids and Counting (not even joking about the title), Table for 12, and Jon and Kate + 8 before that whole thing imploded.

Hey the Science Channel still shows this regularly! I just hate the later episodes for some reason. I liked the old hosts better.

So uh, I noticed I have another Natgeo network now. NatGeo Wild. I don't know if this replaced another channel or not, or if I legitimately have a new one. Too bad they still give all these damned dog shows on the regular NatGeo.

If you're not keeping up with the Storm Chasers blog:

quote:

April 24, 2010
FIRST HIGH RISK OF THE SEASON!!! Dominator in position!

We have been grinding out 48 hours of non-stop storm chasing, seeing 4-5 tornadoes from close range a few days ago in the Texas Panhandle, and are currently heading toward west-central Mississippi from Iowa for a historic tornado outbreak today. By the end of today's chase, we will have covered 3000 miles in our first three days on the road, and likely several more tornadoes across multiple southern states. We are targeting Greenville, MS right in the Mississippi River Valley which is perfect storm chasing terrain - flat farmland with not too many trees - similar to southeast Kansas actually. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a rare High Risk for this area, expecting a massive tornado outbreak from East Texas northeast through Kentucky.. I seriously would not be surprised if there are over 100 tornado reports by the end of the day, many of which will be strong, violent, and long-track, so residents in this area should keep a VERY close eye to the sky. If the tornadoes happen we'll be there to drive into them! Stay tuned for updates, and be sure to check out our live stream!
The live video actually kind of works, too, although it looks like Reed has been stopped for a while helping people with cleanup.

Right at the start of the episode the two boats seemed to be circling around someone in the water in a Survival suit and things were getting very dangerous (someone shouting "he is going to get sucked into the prop!". Then the episode ended without them expanding on that at all, so who knows really. It really felt pointless for them to air that at the start and not follow up on it in the same episode.

I also think the Northwestern Jake might not want to go back because of his comments during the episode about feeling like a real deckhand on Phil's boat.

All the science you need is in childbirth, anal porn, and doing a bunch of IV sticks.

Men are pansies if you don't tell them you're comparing. If they knew about the experiment beforehand they'd all suck it up and act as tough as possible.

Generalized pain tolerance isn't something that can be effectively tested ever due to both the scope, dimorphism and inherent ethical quandries, much less by a serialized hourlong television show. :roflolmao:

Confirmed. I even acknowledge it by saying that my personal 10 in the pain is at best an 8 for the most it could be (scale of 1 to 10).

As for Deadliest Catch, the intro teaser wasn't in this episode! Jake's gonna get pulled into the prop, tonight on Deadliest Catch! And it isn't even in the episode!

I just caught up on Deadliest Catch and I gotta say that next season will be weird for me. With Phil gone, that pretty much leaves 1 captain I like and that's Sig, although the Kodiak skipper seems OK. I tired of Keith pretty much immediately and I'm now done with the captains from the Time Bandit. They're just complete pricks about anything and everything, carrying the most retarded grudges and acting as white trash as is humanly possible.

I'm sure the show will be fine but not sure how much I'm going to enjoy it with only Sig to look forward to(and I love his blow ups).

This was one of those episodes where they just needed something to film, so they found some stupid, silly thing to try out. Just the way they acted during the whole bit made me think that they know it's not a serious test, and they just enjoyed seeing people in pain.

Recirculating ice water that was kept at 1 degree above zero. The other pain tests they tried were interesting but not feasible due to a)being too complicated for them to do and b)less control over starting and stopping it.
