I'm running Shifter/Biomod and finding silly ways to kill people. Case in point, found these explosive barrels in the underbelly of the 747 and used my SUPER STRENGTH to move them all upstairs to the entrance to Lebedev's room. Then placed a LAM on the wall nearby. Didn't even have to talk to that bitch.

Once I'm done my nonlethal playthrough I'm thinking of starting a maximum-force (i.e. kill everybody who pulls a gun) weaponless playthrough. I'll have to use headstomping, crate-throwing, turret hacking, and all sorts of foul play to make it work. It could be either incredibly frustrating or extremely entertaining. e: I might also make it a Worst Agent Ever run, in which you must always do exactly the opposite of what you're ordered to, anger your coworkers as much as possible without getting attacked, and avoid op bonuses like the plague. vvv Stand right in front of an allied NPC, up close, while holding a weapon and the game will prompt you to hit the drop/throw key to give it to them vvv Angry Diplomat fucked around with this message at 16:31 on Apr 30, 2010 |

I did the nonlethal variant of this by carpeting the entire building with gas grenades and coaxing Paul out into the hallway by smashing his chair and pushing furniture at him. When I spoke to him, all hell broke loose - people materialized out of thin air, gas grenades went off, the conversation was interrupted by JC getting hit by a gas cloud, and the whole building turned into a shitfest of screaming guys and Paul running in circles shooting in random directions and JC sprinting around coughing and hitting guys with the blackjack. I somehow managed to knock everyone unconscious and sauntered out feeling rather pleased with myself, only to realize that breaking the conversation had prevented Paul from telling JC the subway keycode, which in turn prevented the note from appearing in the goals/notes screen. I had to look the code up online

I was escorting Miguel and told him to wait so I could take out the guard outside the MJ12 exit but I told him to wait before the load point. I went back when the coast was clear, and saw Miguel right before he vanished in front of me. 4/26 Never Forget our Heroes

If no, 2. Is it pushable? If yes, push it forward. If no, 3. Go around. So Anna will run straight through the barrels, exploding them and killing her. Also, if you block the passage with a large metal crate from the hangar and put another crate behind it to keep it from moving, Anna will think it's pushable and try running through but be unable to move it, keeping her from entering the room, which is one of those "nobody has to die" ways of handling the situation.

Carbohydrates posted:The way NPCs handle obstructing objects is as follows: And then Manderley still goes ballistic on JC, blaming him for Navarre's decision to headbutt a barrel full of napalm. One of my favorite rear end in a top hat tricks is to find a door that opens outward, put a TNT crate in front of it, and then make a noise of some kind or run past a nearby window. Anyone who sees or hears you will run to the door and open it to investigate. This ends in (hilarious) tragedy, since doors instantly break any destroyable object they strike while opening.

I had a weird thing happen when I was trying to help Miguel escape. I killed all the guards in the detention block then told him to make a break for it. He left his cell, walked down the hall, and stood next to the desk staring at the wall for a few seconds, until there was the sound of breaking glass and the ceiling turret started firing at him. Then he whipped out his knife and started trying to stab me to death so I had to shoot him. I reloaded my save and tried again and the exact same thing happened. So weird.

That secrets video blew my mind, especially the computers and generator part, although I guess it makes sense: with all the explosive dynamics of the area, there should very well be, one would hope, a legitimate means of deactivating the power. It also reinforces my now double-cemented belief that the game does not start in earnest until you reach China. The UNATCO reveal certainly robs you of breath, but it's actually the China intro--elevator doors open, cue music, cue crowd sound effects, right-foot-in-front-of-left, "Alright JC, you have 13 hours left on your killswitch. Find Tong"--that finally gasses you back up, granting you this suddenly frenetic personal agency. Delicious. Too bad I have too much work to play again. Or do I? I sort of wish you could interact with Alex somehow late game through comms. He seems wasted, since there is no real joy in talking to the npc when you get a chance. It would have been interesting if you could somehow make decisions that would allow Alex to filter some of the information you got, perhaps, since by the end of the game your head is basically a radio running several stations at once with no off button. What's the best way to take out Navarre WITHOUT just blowing her up before she gets to Lebedev? As in, turning on her after the conversation when she tells you to kill Lebedev... I can't think of a way to do it cleanly without cheating or also killing Lebedev.... drat small plane cabin. Now if only you could knock her out somehow, and the game planned for that...

Just hurt her, and you can either lead her away from Lebidev, or she'll cloak and run away, where you can safely slaughter her like the dog that she is.
