Lex Luger and Buff Bagwell as a tag-team still gives me nightmares. The only thing worse than the matches were the promos. My god, the promos.

Bagwell could cut a decent promo when he wasn't being Buff or the Stuff. The segment when he returned from injury and forgave Rick Steiner for nearly ending his career was really touching stuff and got great reviews all round. A week later they did the same interview, this time with Hogan comming out interrupting the finish, an NWO sneak attack and Buff swerving everyone and going back to the NWO all in about 30 seconds.

The gimmick was a few years behind to be sure, but that's kinda par for the course in wrestling. It actually tends to bother me more when they try to play off current trends and headlines. WWE also tried the grunge gimmick. Anybody remember Louie Spicolli as "Rad Radford"?

Halloween Havoc was mentioned earlier and I always loved this story about Muta, a cage, and some fire. What was the match supposed to be? All I can make out is Muta and (I think) Flair. Hearing Muta being referred to as a kid is a trip too.

It was the Flair/Sting vs Funk/Muta THUNDERDOME match from Halloween Havoc 89. Great match, featuring Muta as a fire extinguisher.

In the sense that he works backstage for WWE, yes. He was pretty much also the only good Armstrong, although Steve could have a good match now and then.
