DOSbox runs Crusader games fantastically if you use the 'dynamic' core option. I played through the entire first game and quit No Regret after the second level (like everyone else here) 4-5 years ago. It really doesn't take a demanding computer anymore though.

Codename Eagle would be amazing to see on GoG, especially if they made it easy for people to host/connect to multiplayer servers. Sadly, they probably couldn't include the fan patches that made the multiplayer actually playable (and subsequently broke the single player campaign).

I always wanted to play this with my friends over LAN, but they just rolled their eyes at me and thought I was weird. :(

I have a physical copy of XIII, but I want a digital copy on GoG or Steam. It has TAGES on it anyway. Eww.

And haha, Condname Eagle. I played it briefly and just remember cracking up at the guard's voices "YOU IDIOT! SHOW ME YOUR PAE-PARS!"

Also, since I'm bored, here's some RTS games I'd like to see here on GoG:

  • The Age of Empires series (Even if it's just the first two, they're the best RTS games ever)
  • Age of Mythology
  • Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf (Ubisoft/Liquid Entertainment)
  • Command & Conquer: The First Decade (Guess who!)
  • Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard (Atari)
  • Dune 2000 (EA)
  • Emperor: Battle For Dune (EA)
  • Homeworld Series (Relic/Sierra..we REALLY need these!)
  • Impossible Creatures (Relic/Microsoft)
  • Kohan 1 & 2
  • Myth Series (Yes, Bungie actually made an awesome RTS before Halo took over their lives..MumboJumbo made Myth III, but it was still pretty good)
  • Outpost 2: Divided Destiny (Sierra/Dynamix)
  • Rise of Nations (Microsoft)
  • Star Trek: Armada 1 & 2 (Activision...Armada II is crazy expensive on eBay)
  • Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds (LucasArts...I LOVE this game)
  • Total Annihilation (Obviously)
  • Total Annihilation: Kingdoms (Cavedog Entertainment)
  • Warcraft: Orcs & Humans (When Warcraft used to be fun)
  • Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition (Despite it's name it is NOT on Blizzard's Battle.net store and cannot be registered)

It is? 3D Realms is still selling it, but it should be on GOG too since they have a few of their games already. I've been wanting a complete 3D Realms/Apogee collection on either Steam or GOG, but I'm going to have to break down soon and get them for there. :(

Speaking of which I can forgive gog a few lovely sequels especially when I've managed to play some pretty sweet games I never otherwise would have been able to (Sacrifice, Freespace, JA2 and some others)

I remember liking the style of that game more then the game. The AI was horrible, even back in the day it was considered weak. You could do things like shoot a guy standing next to another guy and he wouldn't react at all to the guy standing next to him being sniped.

It was a much better setting, theme, character, story and idea then an actual game I always thought.

I got constructor awhile back, still haven't installed it yet.. ugh. I did play that back in the day, remember it being complicated and hard and I gave up on it. But I didn't buy it way back when, so I purchased it now to say sorry for downloading you when I was a kid.

I know, and I actually have a physical copy of it on my desk, but I want a digital copy instead of worring about discs. The First Decade is every C&C game from the first game to Generals: Zero Hour on one DVD, and I think it would work as a $9.99 GOG release since the first three games are free, and it only sells for $19.99 anyway.

I played Undying for the first time about a year and a half ago and it held up rather well.

There was a brick and mortar store that was basically GoG where I lived, and I miss it bad. My collection of games that I got from there were.

Homeworld(1 and 2)
Fallout Collection(This was before it was re-released)
Heretic
Painkiller
System Shock 2
Chaos Legion(I really enjoyed it although the last boss is bullshit)
Medieval Total War Gold
Clive Barkers Undying
Space Rangers 2 Gold

They also sold new games at discounted prices. And they were a small computer repair place(how I found out about them originally)

Such an awesome store.

Not so much like an adventure game but definitely a lot more in depth than Petz. It's more like a genetic experimentation sandbox game... yeah let's go with that.

Wikipedia posted:

The program was significant as it was one of the first commercial titles to code alife organisms from the genetic level upwards using a sophisticated biochemistry and neural network brains. This meant that the Norns and their DNA could develop and "evolve" in increasingly diverse ways, unpredicted by the makers. By breeding certain Norns with others, some traits could be passed on to following generations. Most interestingly, the Norns turned out to behave similarly to living creatures. This was seen as an important insight into how real world organisms may function and evolve. Earlier alife programs had worked by giving their organisms a limited set of commands and parameters, and seeing whether the way the subjects behaved was realistic.

You can definitely get some fun out of the game by just training and looking after your creatures but the most fun is had playing mad scientist. Out of the three I'd say Exodus is the best one to get. It's a compilation of the last couple of games in the series and has the most in-depth artificial life simulation. You can also get a free addon which adds the entire environment from the first game as a separate room.

Technically abandonware isn't legal but System Shock has been distributed as something called System Shock Portable for the past 4 years even on notable freeware sights and I guess EA or whoever owns LGS doesn't care.
