Not sure if I'm remembering right, but didn't he once mention a trip to Olvera Street? I know it's come up on the show, but maybe not in that context.

I don't think I've ever heard it before 2003. I'd say a few times in 2004, and a shitload of times in 2005.

Adam also believed as a kid, that a can of pie filling would just plop out a whole pie when he opened the can. Considering some of the stuff he did in his late teen early 20s, he was certainly a jackoff in that era.

Imbecile, checking in (72 degrees). Lots of Brian's drops are great.

I've missed the old TACS format, and while they seem a little rusty, I'm sure they'll be back in their groove in no time.

Listening to Adam talk about watching Sex and the City while stoned off his rear end had me laughing quite loudly in my car today.

Gave the podcast another chance... and I think it's going to be the last chance. Let's see what things I can remember off of the top of my head and poo poo I didn't skip over:

+Brian getting back in the swing of things with the drops, fairly good
+Somewhat funny story about TMZ, etc
+Billy West
+Funny bit about how much the Eagles suck

-poo poo sound
-Immediately beating the poo poo out of the Issac Hayes horse
-THE NEWS (the format is just grating)
-Oh look a loving torture rant
-Retarded political rant
-Thinks Sex in the City 2 was good
-Oh look more news
-Brett Michaels?
-Teresa's weird obsession with pharmaceuticals
-the news
-the news
-the news

I couldn't care loving less about some weird loving articles about celebrities or dumb crap happening in rear end-backwards states. The format is much more like TACS, which is good; however, it combines the loving worst of both the radio show and the podcast. The final product is a cross between Adam (or in this case THE NEWS) talking over the guest and it sounding like a terribly produced show. Mind you, this isn't some bash Teresa fest, it just so happens that the show was half somewhat interesting, and the rest was muddled garbage or her pandering to Adam like no tomorrow.

That said, I finally listened to an episode of Doug Loves Movies and it's fantastic.

Adam needs to hang some carpets or sound proofing foam in his warehouse. The reverb he gets from the concrete walls is super annoying. Eliminating that would clean up most of the horrible sound problems.

I have been listening to the early years of Adam on Loveline, when Riki Rachtman was still there. I have been noticing that a lot of Adam's style comes from how Riki speaks and interacts. Adam kept silent a lot of the time while Riki goes on jags. He even uses phrases that Adam uses a lot (the 'let me tell you how it is' kind of phrases)
Maybe I am off-base with that find, but I thought it is interesting.

Adam needs an antagonizer, otherwise he spends an hour advocating torture, complaining about flying first class, and how hard it is to get a permit to build a garage for all his cars.

On Loveline he had Anderson, the callers, and to a certain extent Drew. On The Adam Carolla Show he had Jack Silver, Mike Lynch and the radio station executives. It went south when they started to fire anyone that was a source of conflict- Dameshek, Rachel Perry, Jimmy Brusca, etc.

The problem with the podcast is that Donny is really Adam's only conflict, and there's only so much he can complain about his best friend before starts to come off as an rear end in a top hat.

Dude, I agree Adam does better when he has an antagonist, but if you think the show went downhill when they lost Rachel Perry and Brusca, there's no help for you.

And Dameshek was never what I'd call an antagonist. Drew disagreed with Adam way more than Dave ever did.

I'm listening to TAC in chronological order and am not yet to the point where Brusca, Tad, and Dave get the axe. I can see getting rid of Tad because he's annoying and incompetent, and Perry because she was also kind of obnoxious, what is the problem with Brusca? I love Dave's impersonation of Brusca, all the fat jokes at his expense, and the "great show, lot of, uh...fun" drop. Why do you or others think he dragged the show down?

Nemo

Everything Brusca did felt really artificial. I'm sure he'd be a good producer for some other radio program, but he would constantly try to steer the show to some stupid bit he had scheduled when Adam got on a roll.

It was funny when they'd make fun of him for holding up note cards, but it also just proved he didn't get how Adam worked best, even after almost a year on the show.

I think of Brusca as ACS's Anderson. Yeah, Rachel Perry definitely needed to go, but I didn't like Teresa as a replacement. Too much kissing Adam's rear end and drama between her and Damashek. To be honest, I stopped listening regularly about 4 months in and stopped completely when they brought Bonaduce on.

Loveline sounds fine because even though how notoriously cheap Westwood None is, the quality is good since they know what they're doing. ACP has always sounded like poo poo.

I plug my ipod touch in through the USB porn on the front of my stereo in my car. Every other podcast I listen to sounds excellent. ACP sounds like garbage and I have to turn it way up over anything else just to hear it, which amplifies the echo. Downloaded episodes of Loveline even sound fine compared to ACP.

You would like someone with a past in radio would understand a little bit about sounds proofing and acoustics. Greg Ftzsimmons records his podcast in his garage that he converted to a home theater entertainment room, and it sounds great. A little sound proofing works wonders.

I'm just saying.
