Microsoft game that I am about 90% sure came with some editions of Windows 95. You flew a little triangle-shaped ship around inside mazes with different trippy textures, and the ship could occasionally jump over walls.

There was a game on Sega Genesis and it was a side-scroller where you were a muscle-bound guy and I THINK you wandered to different coliseums or something to fight various bad guys? It was very hard and pretty graphic/bloody as well. Any ideas?

There might also have been an overworld map where you went to different locations to fight bosses? I distinctly remember it being pretty graphic like you could maybe get your arm cut off or maybe cut off the bosses' arms or something?

A friend of mine is looking for a 2D side-scroller that was most likely for the SNES. Her memory is rather hazy but it featured a life bar made of 5 or so hearts, a first level going up or down a steep hill, a frost level in the sky, and a castle at the end that you were trying to get to the whole game story-wise. The hero resembled Megaman to a degree and it was a short game. I personally checked a list of SNES platformers on GameFAQs but I could not identify it sadly, so there's the slight possibility that it was for another system from the same console generation (the graphics were distinctly 16-bit).

Trying to remember the DOS game I played when I was in elementary school (early 90's). It was a platformer and had an Egyptian theme. I remember the main character as being kinda stocky, but my memory is really hazy. I know this is super vague but I have NO loving idea.

I'm looking for a freeware 2d side-scroller that came out maybe 5 or so years ago for the pc. The gameplay was pretty close to a Gunstar Heroes, and you had a sliding attack that was pretty useful. The entire game took place on a spaceship, which if I remember correctly had a purple or pinkish interior. The main enemies were white, humanoid robots with round body parts, The entire art style was pretty cartoonish. I remember one scene in particular where when you beat a level you fell off a conveyor belt or a garbage chute and end up breaking your fall by landing on one of these robots.

Okay, this looks like the thread to ask a question. I saw footage of a game recently, and I didn't see the name of the game anywhere. I'm almost certain it's a Wii game, probably never released outside of Japan. It's a cooking game where you're cooking in a Japanese restaurant, and have to complete a variety of tasks. These tasks range from chopping vegetables and filling a beer glass, to stuff like killing roaches and dialing a number on a rotary phone. The graphics style was very cartoony, the whole thing was in Japanese, and I have no idea what it's called. Does anyone have the slightest idea what I'm talking about?

Cooking games are pretty extensive in Japan. Xplay (back when they were Gamespot TV and actually good) did a series of videos on quirky Japanese games (only name I remember is Harmful Park) and the game 9999DMG mentioned sounds pretty close to something they showed off. If only there weren't 1,000 loving episodes to think back on.

The actual gameplay during a battle almost reminds me of the original legend of zelda. If not I can't seem to find any video of Ogre Battle that's real time, where you control your character like in Zelda. The overworld map looks very similar to the game I am trying to find though.

hmm since no one got my first one, there's another that has been bothering me for a period of years now... It's a PC game again, Win95 era, where you controlled a jet fighter "on rails" through various levels from the third person. You could shoot your machine gun/missiles as fast as you could press the buttons with unlimited ammo iirc, and the only level I remember was one where you flew straight up into the sky with clouds and poo poo going past. Most memorably, EVERY time your jet locked on to a new enemy (often) this announcer or whatever would start yelling "FIRE! FIRE!FIRE!F-F-F-FIRE! FIRE!FIRE!" I played the game a ton but can't remember anything else :/ There may have been bosses too but I'm not sure about that

I used to play this game back in 94 or 96. It was a formula 1 racing game and I never took it seriously because every time I'd start around the oval track I'd never finish so I'd never qualify. Well one day I did finish and qualified and then it put me in to a full on race. The graphics were meh but the game had content. You could customize the levels of the cars flaps and I think adjust camber and other things.

There was this old rear end NES (edit: Maybe SNES) shooter that I'm trying to remember. The screen was circular and your ship traveled around the edge shooting inwards. That's about all I remember. Oh, and it was totally awesome. There's another one that may very well be Gauntlet, but it's so hazy I'm not sure. From what I remember it was the same top down, fantasy hack and slash, same level design with blocky bits and you had to find keys to open up certain paths here and there, but your health didn't drain away. I only played it a couple times and it was so long ago. You know what? It's probably Gauntlet and my memory just sucks. Bummey fucked around with this message at 02:19 on Jun 24, 2010 |
